Yeah, breeding IVs can get annoying. Usually I'm satisfied with 'good' IVs, which can either mean all 20+ in the case of my Slowbro, or 31s in the two most important stats, as is the case on my Porygon-Z. I know some of the people on this site are very picky, though.
I have some random Pokes with 31s in certain areas, including an extra Ditto with a 31 HP IV. Want any?
Those are just the four that evolve only by trading. There are quite a few more that require items to be held while trading. Just to be completely clear.
I ended up equipping a smoke ball on my front pokemon so I could just run from everything. Unfortunately I only thought of this like 3/4 the way through and still had to escape rope out to get my PP back. Plus the encounter rate is crazy and it's still annoying running from shit every 3 steps.
That said.. I always hated Pokemon, I thought it was childish shite responsible for ruining cartoons, but fuck if the game isn't good. I'm a huge sucker for games that give me my money's worth (hence my recurring MMO addiction) and this game has so many layers to play on.
I'm at the elite 4 (fucking grinding to do before I can beat them) and I only just now figured out how to do the underground. I haven't even started breeding, nor have I done any trading or online stuff. So much value in such a tiny package.

Heh, interesting. Cyndaquil has similar stats compared to Charmander but at lv 10 Cyndaquil ends up getting 1-2 points more in each stat. Looks like I'm leveling Cyndaquil for now.
You could always go for Rest-talk Snorlax over classic Curselax, Stein. Snorlax can still be second only to Blissey for taking special hits. Or go all out attacker- no one sees CB Snorlax coming!
Also, this 'team awesome' stuff intrigues me. What six Pokemon in existence could possibly be more awesome than the singular awesome that is Drifblim?
So am I correct in assuming that would be alright for me to use an earthquake TM on my Male Gabite because I can egg move it onto other stuff later?
You could just as easily get a Rhydon from Stark Mountaintop which have Stone Edge and EQ already. I'd save the TM for the things you absolutely cannot breed EQ onto.
Yep, as long as the TM is on a male Pokemon, it will be passed down to the future offspring, should you decide to rebreed it or use it for breeding other Pokemon. Also, Earthquake is a rebuyable TM so you can get more (though it'll cost 80 BP, which isn't really that easy to get initially).
Aggril, Team Awesome consists of a giant sand hippo, four random jerks that suicide themselves into Mamoswine's Earthquakes until it finally dies (mostly from Life Orb recoil), and Green Man, the Cradily that has stopped me winning twice in a ROW. GRRRRRR.
On another note, Aggril, I'm willing to offer a one-for-one trade deal on heart scales for your PP ups. I can't do it now, but I should be able to deliver up to 6.
All the Rhyhorn/Rhydons that I've caught are female. I wasn't intending to go that way, they just happened to be the first that I was able to catch for Pokedex purposes. Ah well, I've already bred up a Garchomp regardless.

Also, when I was considering breeding up a Mamoswine I was considering giving it NevermeltIce to bluff it having Choice Band on its Ice Shards.. then SURPRISE EARTHQUAKE TO THE FACE AHAHAHA. I'm still working on Team Industrial Might though, and despite its coolness Mamo has no business on a team bent on the Capitalist way.
I would be willing to trade my well-overstocked PP Ups for some extra heart scales, Dingus. Just let me know whenever you're willing and able to trade.

I may be being rather unkind to team awesome as I've lost to it several times. Mostly because, as mentioned, the Green Special Wall of Death is nearly impregnable to the 2 or so special attackers I have left after finishing off the rest of his team.
It's a shame Mamoswine is Life Orbed, but I can't choice item him as I need Ice Shard, EQ, and Blizzard for different members of team awesome, and he's difficult to switch in in the first place.
(You should challenge it, Aggril. The person who defeats team awesome gets a cresselia.)
If ever our schedules cross, I'll eventually get around to challenging OSD. But not for the Cresselia.. I have several grown-up Pokemon in my boxes that were mercilessly stomped on by him way back when we had the Breeders Cup (all lvl 5 Pokemon, least evolved form, restricted by stats but otherwise the same as our usual teams here).
That was a fun tournament. We should have another one like that.

Yes Oboro, Graveler still only evolves by trade, but with the existance of Wi-Fi that has been made quite a bit easier.
EDIT: I remember in Red/Blue there was an in-game trainer who traded you a Machoke and when you got it from her, it didn't evolve. So stupid.
