Actually if you read closely you can glean SOME information from our silly NDA posts.
I actually understood most of them.
Of course I too am under the all-powerful NDA, and thus can't say which.
By the way, you beta'ers that post often in this thread... I don't know how you do it. I end up writing replies and then deleting them because I can't seem to work around the NDA. Heck, I've taken to just screaming in frustration when I read any misconceptions in here that I so very much want to correct.
Because 99.9999% of the things that we talk about in this thread has also been talked to death on the WHA forums and/or can be found in the various heralds, newsletters or devposts.
I've never put out information that isn't otherwise available elsewhere.
By the way theres a "news from the front" up. Who wants to repost it and link the screenies for those of us stuck at work with the site blocked? I'll tell you which shot is mine :P

We all know that the stuff we talk about is possibly/probably totally wrong, but can you blame us? We have bugger all else to go on and we can hardly just stop thinking about WAR untill open beta... or the cruel beta gods deign to shower invites upon the needy.

90% of what goes on in the thread is just blatant drooling and fanboyism, the other 10% is wild speculation and name calling.

Oh, that. I didnt know if there was some sort of shitstorm in the herald update, since I haven't read it yet.
Yeah, Dark Elves cant be disciples to Khaine, thats reseved for High Elevs durhurhurhurhur and if they were it would only be femailes hurdurhdurdur
Something about a god of war granting life-stealing powers and durdurdurdur. Basically some dumb fucks trying to use "lore violations" to get attention... which no one cared about, and weren't violations anyway.
Isn't he the God of Murder to the DEs? (War for HEs and they only worship him during times of war)... so the whole life stealing thing makes complete sense? Yeah. Fuckin morons.
He's the same to all panzees, and simply a Murder god to human cults. Dark Elves just venerate him above the rest of the pantheon, as they live lives of pragmatism and strength (rather than flowers and being effeminate).
Blood and life-stealing is well represented previously, and also awesome, which is more important to the lore. Warhammer is built around excuses for carnage and bloodshed, not creating canon and deep stories of angst and durdur.
The DoK controversy was mostly some D&D Drow fans being bitches cause Witch Elves were no longer the uncontested rulers of the Temple of Khaine. Therefore their female dominatrix RP is shown for the crap it is, or something.
Also, something about "healing in the name of Khaine, the god of murder, is blasphemy"
but yeah, I think we can all agree that as nerds (or whatever you want to call yourself) you love a good argument about imaginary worlds and the rules they're built on every once and a while.

Yeah, but you need to have fun with it, remember it's not actually important, and NOT BE FUCKING WRONG ABOUT YOUR SOURCES (like the retard Disciple people).

that was rather angry, but yeah. I would never argue about any warhammer lore (since i don't really know any) but i do like arguing points in game mechanics

Funny thing about being a Drow fan (having only read and being still in process of reading the long Drizzt saga) is that the main reason I'm a fan is because of two male rebelious types. Drizzt and Jarleaxle (sp?).
Sorry about the mezmer thing. I got my games crossed. after ~five years mentalist and mezmer are close words with close game mechanics. Thanks for the correction though. It unlocked a flood of memories. I used to play for free at this internet cafe because I worked at Marie Calendar's. I always brought pie or potato cheese soup for their chubby asses. Good times. Good times. *sigh*
*note* they weren't actually chubby until the pie-a-night scheme I deployed on them for free RvR Muahahaha!
Yeah he got sufficiently lame after the first three books. Nyah Nyah I'm on a boat with a bunch of crusty men and the closest thing to a valkyrie that wants my jock but I'd rather take it up the arse with an oar. pfft. Entreri is way cooler. I think Salvatore's descriptions of fight scenes are still damn good though. If there are books on Jarleaxle I'm definately going to read those next.
Still.. I'm not going to be playing some lanky elf (high or dark) because they're lame. I had a night elf warrior in WoW and I regretted her sorely the more I got into the endgame. Small characters give you a better view of what's going on in the game (barring FP view where it is moot). I suspect Squig Hunter may be my class of choice but I'm also anticipating a flood of squig hunters.
I loved how in BG2 you could name your character Drizzt, go around committing evil deeds, have Drizzt show up and challenge you to a duel, then you get to kill the bastard and take his stuff.

Yeah didn't he have like
2 +5 scimitars?
That was sick. His voice was all heroic and stupid too. That was before I ever read a book about him so I killed him (because he sounded like a moron) immediately and got fat lootz.
Edit: back to WAR
This brings me to a good point. How many dual wielding classes are there?

The marauder has the offhand mutation thing. Does that count?

No no no, he has 2 hands as weapons.
but yeah lets not focus on Drow emo'ness...and rather maybe some nice drow dom/sub action...or not.
from what I know, classes that duel weild are W(i/y)tch Elf, DoK, Witch Hunter (sort of, 2 different weapons), Marauder, Choppa, possibly shadow warrior

Waiting is hard.
I would but, unfortunately, NDA isn't being NDAed at this time.
If it makes you guys feel any better I'll probably being getting my ass kicked at OCS when WAR actually comes out.
Basically, all you can say is that you're in the beta.

That is all.
A small but focused poop hurricane that formed in the Gulf of Internet Fucking Stupid. Nothing worth worrying about.

its like every damn time they release a codex that army takes a 180.

they had a shitstorm over if the game could possible contain a sword looking like a katana
It pretty much rains shit over there all the time
