Rooster Teeth, the guys responsible for the excellent Red vs Blue series that wrapped up awhile ago and who brought the whole idea of machinima out to a lot of people (myself included) have announced a news series: Red vs Blue: Reconstruction.
The trailers a bit more serious than the RvB I remember, but in the comments they hint pretty strongly we should still expect it to be a comedy series.
I'm looking forward to this. RvB was excellent, and the fact it stumbled somewhat as it went on doesn't outweigh the fact that when it was good it was one of the best things online.
Yeah, I'm not sure what I think of this. They should have done another game. As Zek intoned, they could have done something fantastic with TF2.
Or at the very least, made it its own entirely new series, instead of capitalizing on the RvB name. By attaching it to the RvB name like that... I just don't know. *shrug*

Also, I seriously hope they know better than to make a serious story, that trailer was painful to listen to.
I think it was intentionally bad, though I do admit I was a little thrown off until I saw them mention it was still supposed to be a comedy. The last line gives it away too, and isn't half bad.
How would it have been improved by being done in TF2?
It wouldn't have since they would have so much trouble making it look believable that the guys were talking the reason they've used Halo is that a moving helmet does the trick though I'm not sure what they did to do it in shadowrun
I'm guessing it's another mini-series like Out of Mind or Recovery One.
Those are always serious in tone.
Note it does not say miniseries but SERIES
Hmm.....
Well if the trailer is any indication, there will be armor permutations used for various characters. Be interesting to see if any of the main cast ends up with non-standard stuff.
I take it you probably stopped when it seemingly jumped the shark season 3
It actually got better and seasons 4 &5 were delightful
This is true. They had that slow spot there, but once they got into the groove after it switched to Halo 2, it got really good.
especially the part with
the elite
the thing about Roosterteeth is they're actually trained somewhat in film, so their stuff always has good direction, vs most other machinima which always reminds you that you're looking at game.

We'll see.

It's a continuation of BGC.
So they aren't just attaching the name onto it.

Because what we need is more Heavy + Medic machinima!

That episode where they're trying to teach him was the only time I have actually not been able to breathe because I was laughing so hard
