Yes, another cellphone thread - looking for advice <orikae needs advice too>
So I've had it up to fucking here with Verizon. I've decided after being with them for a decade that over the last couple of years they've become ass raping vultures that won't even give me the courtesy of a reach around. I've suddenly reached the last straw and I want to switch within the next few days. Sprint is probably the frontrunner at this point. Looking for a plan that's $50 or less and includes unlimited messaging which Sprint does offer for $50 and I don't need that many airtime minutes. 450 is plenty. I'd like a phone that includes a qwerty keyboard for messaging (I currently have the LG enV and have been happy with it aside from the carrier it's with).
Talk to me people, give me your opinions so I can proceed to ignore them and buy a pretty pink phone that I can attach Hello Kitty accessories to.
if i liked the style of the hellblazer movie (specifically the part with lucifer grabbin' some tumours and almost no other part of the movie) and was interested in john constantine's character, what trade should i read of hellblazer
My family has Alltel and so far they have been very good to us. We only used a third of our minutes because of free nights and weekends, free mobile-mobile, and 10 MyCircle numbers. You can set texting separately so you can have whatever combination you want.

i haven't really had any problems with them but i've been thinking of going with Cricket or something, unlimited everything for $50 a month and hopefully better reception

For 39.99, you can get unlimited calls to any five people, 300 minutes, free nights and weekends, with free nationwide roaming and long distance with T-Mobile. For an additional 9.99, you can get 1000 text and picture messages, or unlimited text and pictures for 14.99.
If you want a phone with a qwerty keypad, there's the T-Mobile Dash or Blackberry 8700 that are both really affordable. If you have a higher budget, the Blackberry Curve and Sidekick Slide are great devices with a lot of nice features.
In any case, I would really recommend staying far, far away from Sprint. Their customer service is the worst in the industry. There's a reason they've been hemmoraging customers by the hundreds of thousands for the past year.
As soon as I can, I'm switching providers and getting a BlackJack.
T-Mobile sucks.
What I'm saying is, I have advice for you except that BlackJacks are fancy.
Blackjacks aren't that great really. It's a pretty generic Windows Mobile phone. It's basically the same in terms of buttons and such to phones like the Motorola Q and T-Mobile Dash.
hmmm, the LG Rumor with Sprint is looking like a good candidate
it's sideways slider with a qwerty keypad and looks a bit smaller than my current phone

fuck you all i don't even know what this is about, but if you don't use sprint's sero plan, you're dumb. unless you work for a cell phone company and can thus get a better emplyee deal.
Cheapest plan is like $30:
-500 minutes (1250min is $50, 2500min is $99)
-unlimited data
-unlimited roaming/roaming data
-unlimited text
-free nights and weekends
I get service from a company called Cricket. It area coverage isn't great. I just need it for the greater Cincinnati area. They only charge me $45 a month for unlimited calls including long distance, unlimited text and internet. No contract either it's jut that flat rate every month. If I don't pay they cut service and never bother me again.
I used to have Nextel. I went over my mintues a couple times and they raped me. So I dropped those motherfuckers.
Druhim seriously Sprint is horrible and you should stay away from them.
I know too many people who have been treated terribly by that company.
sprint has horrible customer service, but the cheap plan is worth the risk of having to talk to them. I haven't called their CS except when I was thinking of buying the phone, and when I finally did buy the phone, I did it online, so I technically never dealt with their crappy customer service. I've had the phone for about 9 months now, no problems. sprint's coverage sucks? doesn't matter since I roam for free.

I remember someone (possibly you) mentioning this in another cell thread a few weeks back but forgot the details. Thanks!
But instead of going with a company that has horrible customer service and hoping you never have to talk to them, why not get service with a company that wins awards for their service?

because I don't see any plans from them that give me specifically what I want for the price point I'm seeking
the only phone I see from T Mobile that interests me is the Dash, and after checking some video reviews for it I'm not willing to settle for that handset. They may be a great company, but T Mobile just isn't offering what I want.
It has full dvds on it and 48 levels of lemmings played with the touch screen.
Also I will never again buy a phone that doesn't have a qwerty keyboard, because I text way more than I talk, and typing on a phone keypad is for people that think Thundercats are cool because they weren't there the first time around.
I guess I will wait until this summer and just hope my current phone (a good samsung, cheap but very reliable which is on its last legs from being dropped so often) holds out

I ain't read a lot of hellblazer
I did read the Fear and Loathing trade, which you should like by title alone, but has some solid stuff by ennis and has a story by grant morrison
knob or whippy is better to ask on this one though

why is hellblazer the only thing that garth ennis can write that is actually interesting and touching rather than just a stack of over the top rudeness featuring characters with faces that look like genitals

I like the phone a lot. Later this month I am gonna order a microSD card and a bluetooth dongle.

yeah i'm probably doing this, too
i'm waiting because (other than being poor with no job) it looks like a 3G one is being announced in June

I am not a guy to jailbreak one and have it brick, I don't have that kind of dollars
I need a new phone though and I'm with ATT and the plan would only be a bit more than what I have now

You should at the very least hang back for three months and see what else they put in the 3g one.
(fingers crossed for 32gigs)

didn't they release some developer kit or something
See that would be good for me
I don't need a billion gigs, I wouldn't use it for TV shows and movies
Just a phone that can hold some cool music and that will let me look up interweb stuff

I've just heard too many horror stories about Sprint to give them two thoughts, no matter how cheap their plans are.
