The part I hated the most was actually that contrived "everything happens for a reason" bullshit.

    Yes, YES!

You can't make that point in a movie! Everything does happen for a reason in a movie, because the writer wrote it that way! It just makes my brain angry thinking about it.

So yeah, comic book movies. Just got back from finally seeing Iron Man (and getting called a nerd by some kid), and that shit was epic. Hands down my favorite superhero movie yet. Also, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts? Rrowr. :winky:

That's almost as good of a story as when my roommate almost got in a fight with a bunch of frat guys in front of us in the Iron Man line. He's very confrontational and the guys were being pretty retarded.

30 Days of Night looks amazing though, especially on Blu-Ray. But... it could have been better. I still enjoyed it though.

This is a little old, but it's a trailer for the new Hulk game.

Pretty spiffy, though I didn't know the game was coming out for the Wii. I hope they don't use some horrible waggle gimmick.

    Yes

That was a feature in Ultimate Destruction. When he landed after a huge jump he'd bounce a little and make a big crater. It was purely cosmetic, but like pretty much everything else in the game, it added a sense of weight and power that made you feel like the Hulk

That trailer looks like utter dogshit. No sense of weight or power to anything, not even the combat, and the graphics don't even look that great, especially what happens when you destroy a car

Unless that was some kind of really early alpha build, then I have seen quite enough of that game

What wii (8-) ) need is a Wii version of a Hulk game. Use the nunchuk as each arm of the beast, and the Wii board for the feet-stomp!

The new Hulk game looks like they're just apping UD, but there's that spark of creativity and detail that added so much to that game.
Then again, there hasn't been ton of media on the new game, so I'm hopeful. And in the subject of games, I'm surprised theres no Dark Knight tie in. Especially considering that EA(?) holds the license.

Nathan Fillion should have been the sheriff in 30 Days of Night. Every small town sheriff should be played by Nathan Fillion.

I think Nathan Fillion should just run for office as sheriff in a series of small-towns. Just to see how many times he could win.

    He's Bill Pardy.

I rented it and did not hate it.
That is all I can remember about it. I think it was super simplified with no combos to speak of, mostly just mash these buttons and sneak around a bit. Then there were Batmobile parts that were not good.

Nuts to Wanted, how about SUPERMAX! Green Arrow will shank you in the shower!

Seriously, don't read this unless you like spoilers. Contains an intro to the plot, as well as some of the DC villains that will appear (lots of C, B listers plus mention of other cameos). I have a good feeling about this one, but only for existing fans and not for casual audiences.

It seems like there's way too much going on in that plot with an origin story, a frame job and takeover of Queen Industries, Checkmate, everything that's bound to happen in prison, tons of villains, and the inevitable breakout.

I'd really rather see it reduced to a pampered, egotistical hero going to prison for legitimate reasons, really fleshing out prison life and prisoner interactions, and then the inevitable breakout and redemption of the hero.

In any case, I do like the concept.

I think it sounds pretty cool, just because it's such an atypical idea for a superhero movie. But ever since someone mentioned how they'd like to see Booster Gold in the role of Green Arrow, I can't help but think what a better movie that would be.

goddammit that sounds awesome. it helps that i am a complete fucking sucker for prison stories (one of my favorite shows is "lockup" on msnbc), particularly prison stories where a new dude comes in and fucks everyone else up (like the hard time arc of hellblazer, or when lono gets popped) but i've wanted a badass modern prison break story since jack bauer almost ended up in chinese prison on 24

(seriously though, how cool would it have been if the next season of 24 had been the 24 hours where jack's allies help him break out of chinese political torture prison?)

(also i don't actually watch prison break because the chunk from blade 3 really bugs me)

i've read other places that think the lack of a big name villain will hurt the story, but i disagree. i like the idea that there's a lot of semi-shitty dudes in here and not all of them will be gunning for ollie (though most of them will).

that site said the rumor was matt damon for green arrow, though, and i don't think i like that. it's not that i don't like matt damon, because i reallly do, i just don't see him as oliver queen.

    "Yeah, that was totally awesome!"

"Let's do it with Green Arrow and a bunch of B and C list villains the general public doesn't know or care about."

    "...o_O"

I don't know, it could be pretty cool. I have faith that the script is probably pretty good but I can't imagine it having a good execution. If they did it as a mini or a graphic novel I would buy it without question.

Huge veto on Matt Damon though.

Don't shoot me, because I'm not intensely familiar with the character, but the Hollywood person who springs to mind when I think of someone who could suit this role would be...

    Matthew McConnawhatsit.

If only he had more serious film roles.

I'm only speaking in terms of the physicality and general look that the script implies. Plus I think he does have acting chops, he just ends up being encouraged to ham it up because of the roles he gets cast in.

I'm sure makeup and maintaining a beard would go a long way to getting a proper goatee and moustache going. And how does he suck? He's had good film roles before, he's got the physicality. He more often than not has stupid romcom roles, but he's been in other stuff.
