So I'm not sure how many people are aware of this, but Hancock was actually been in development for over ten years. The original script was written in 96, and supposedly it became one of those scripts everyone loves, but can't figure out how to make a marketable movie. We'll, we seen Smith's and Berg's version, but someone leaked out the script

I really enjoyed the script. It's insanely different from the actual movie, but those first pages would have been awesome to see in the film

If that's the script I'm thinking of, it's actually pretty bad.

EDIT: That's probably a little harsh.

New superhero sitcom (second or third article down) starring Mark Heap (crazy artist from Spaced), the guy who played Ricky Gervais's boss in The Office and many other people who will make you say 'that's thingy from that show about the watchamacallit'. It looks pretty good.

Anyone picking up Gotham Knight today? I watched it again this weekend (hurray for advance employee rentals at Blockbuster :P) and found myself even less enthused by it the second time around. Some of the sections of it are really awesome (loved the first segment, as well as the ones featuring Killer Croc and Deadshot), but found others to be somewhat lacking. I'm eager to hear what you guys think, though.

So Hellboy 2 this week. Anyone going to go watch it?
The first one didn't make much of an impression on me, but the second one looks so much more interesting.

    So, Hancock... meh.

It had a good idea in there somewhere... And will smith was fine in it... I think it was the writing - the second half of the movie felt rushed and hamfisted.

And am I being picky, or was the CGI really sub-par?

I picked it up on Blu-Ray yesterday and I really liked it a lot. I thought the first and last stories were the best of the bunch with the bullet-shield one being probably the least interesting (the interpretation of the suit in that one bugged me). Other than that I thought it was a solid watch.

Question though, does the movie 100% tie in with Dark Knight? I really liked what they did with Arkum and the surrounding area and I hope that translates to the live action film.

So about Gotham Knight and Scarecrow:
His outfit there really looked like his old TAS get-up. What are the chances that his costume in the film is closer to that than his current suit-with-mask combo?

I doubt they're going to take it that far into supervillain regalia territory.

Really, the link between Gotham Knight and Dark Knight is tenuous at best, save for the fact that both are continuations of the story started by Batman Begins.

Yeah, sadly. I like how they made the Joker's outfit still be recognizable, but more 'realistic'. I was really hoping to see a treatment of Scarecrow like that.

I picked up Gotham Knight yesterday, but might not watch it until Friday with some friends. I'm really, really tempted, however.

And I'm totally seeing Hellboy 2, probably on Friday, possibly with the same friends for Gotham Knight. It's going to be a great way to end the work week.

I had an idea that after BB the Scarecrow runs off and ends up having to sleep in a barn for shelter. He wakes up, with lots of hay stuck to him, is startled by a farmer and he crabs a pitchfork to kill him with. He then grabs a dirty rag and drapes it over him as a makeshift cloak, grabs the farmers hat and makes his way back to Gotham City.

But its a stupid idea because why would there be a farm anywhere near Gotham City.

    Well in Gotham Knight
he's the king of the homeless, sort of
so the rags all over him would make sense.

Honestly, just have him show up in the costume if you're dead set on it. An outfit doesn't need a secret origin to justify itself.

I was referencing the way Christopher Nolan explains every detail of Batman's costume in Batman Begins to explain why I feel The Scarecrow showing up in his comic book clothes would probably be explained.

Yeah, but Batman was the main character, and Johnathan Crane is now presumably crazy enough to dress up as a scarecrow without wandering into a pumpkin patch and experiencing an epiphany.

Doesn't excuse them for not cleaning it up for the big screen. Or at least having the audiance view it over Bateman's shoulder on YouTube so the quality wouldn't matter.

I really liked Brian Azzarello's Indian training one. It wasn't the most action packed, but it delved the most into Batman's mind. Best action ones were the Scarecrow (Oh my he just cleaved that pipe!) and the Deadshot sections.
