This video game trading company, is giving away bonuses to new members that register during the month of April. The bonus gives 100 Goozex points and 1 trade credit to new members, and allows to receive a free video game from the Goozex member network.
To receive the free bonus:
- Sign up on Goozex
- Activate your account (confirm email)
No credit card, no monthly fees required. Double accounts or multiple accounts from the same household disqualify you.
To request your game:
- Search for all games available for 100 points under the "Available" category
- Or, use the advanced search feature for all "Available" games priced at 100 points.
heres some are some good PC games they have for 100 points
Sims 2
Command & Conquer
Diablo II
Doom 3
Call of Duty 2
Quake 4
Star Wars Battlefront II
StarCraft
Battlefield 2: Special Forces
and a shit load more

I figure, at worst, I won't get my free copy of Dynasty Warriors 4 for the xbox, and a lame hotmail account will get spammed to death.
Yeah, seems too good to be true, but like I said, at worst, I won't get anything.
It seemed like it was a "free trade", as in, send them a game, get a game thing with no fees. But the join page states quite clearly (in bold) that it's a free game.
I'm still a bit wary/worried that it's one free trading transaction, and not actually one free game. That might just be my disbelief of an actual free product though.
Goozex is legit. I've been trading there since November. Got Metal Gear Solid and Tekken 3 in mint condition, and managed to unload a bunch of shitty games I don't play anymore. The only e-mails you'll get if you sign up is the Goozex newsletter and that's like 1 a month.
Hmm, this just screams scam of some sort to me. TANSTAAFL and all.
I use Goozex, and just happen to sign up during this time. The 'points' are the currency your games get converted into when you trade them - a new game or highly sought after goes for about 1,000 and stuff like Hulk:Ultimate Destruction will be 250-300. It's more like a small one time credit to start trading than anything else, they just also happen to have some low-value games.

I just signed up the day before yesterday and I've already sent off 2 games. Red Star for 350 and Suikoden 5 for 650.
Lots of 100 point games worth getting, but it looks like the waiting list for damn near everything is long.
So using this, I can get the regular versions of MGS 2 and 3 for like another $10, or I can go out and buy the collection for $30. What should I do? Are the substance versions worth it?
Been using goozex for a few months now. Traded in a bunch of PC games and recieved a bunch of 360 games.
Only had a scratched disc once, and I was credited back in like 3 hours.
Goozex is awesome, unless the game you want is in a giant queue

Goozex and the offer are legit, I use them. If anything, occasional free points are beneficial and neccesary.
Their system works such that points aren't "spent" but traded to whoever sends a game you've requested. Without the free points on signup, the only time new points could enter the economy would be when someone buys points.
Since no one must buy points, this would mean that the user base could grow limitlessly without the amount of points available increasing. Past a certain proportion of users to total points, this would guarantee "poverty" for nearly everyone as points would be too rare for the system to work.
Edit: This assumes Goozex is not pursuing all-out profit. If they are, they're terrible at it. The ability to buy points allows the economy to self-correct, but all signs point to the primary purpose being a service to aid reliably trading games while covering operating expenses. To that end, adding points to the economy is a neccesaity as the user base grows.
This game is not tradeable
There are conflicting End User Agreements regarding the trading of MMOs that prevent the full transfer of title between users. Therefore Goozex does not allow members to trade these types of games.[/qote]
It means that because of the difference in licensing between a normal game and an MMO, they can not legally transfer ownership of the mmo "game" like they can, say, a zelda cartridge.

So..why is it even there? Maybe I'm missing something
To let you know why you can't trade in that WoW disk?
I'm sorry, what?
The game is on goozex, doesn't that mean that the game was offered by someone? But if they don't trade or sell MMO's, by the way, it's not even a MMO, it's a Steam game though I see where the problem is, I don't see why they would have it listed..
Goozex uses a database supplied by Muse. Just because a game is listed doesn't mean it's being traded, it just means that Muse has it in their database. They put up the notices on the games that can't be traded, because those games are still in the database even though Goozex isn't trading them.
Edit: Goozex gives you the address to send a game too, then you pop it in a bubble mailer and take it to the post office.

You have to ship the games yourself. The best and cheapest way is to send the mail US or Canadian Postal Service, 1st class, with delivery confirmation. With a bubble mailer from the post office or a corner general store, this should run you $2-4. This gets the game there safely in 3-5 days and the delivery confirmation prevents you from being ripped off.
If you save the bubble mailers from games you recieved, you can even save a buck. Works best if your post office has an eletronic mailing kisok that prints labels, so you can slap that over the old address. Be sure to cross out the old return address. :P
I got quite interested in this, but then I tried to put in my mailing address and even though one of the three countries listed in their 'country' drop box is Canada it doesn't recognize Canadian Postal codes, instead it says:
Bad field address form
blah blah blah, if your country doesn't have a zip code please leave this field blank
So I leave it blank and it gives me the same error again haha.

Ah, what a shame, I'd really like to have Half-Life, the first one, as I'm really low on money, trying to save for the summer vacations
What about online serials for PC games? Say I wanted to get the Warcraft 3 battle chest, or the Dawn of War expansions? Is the serial considered part of the "full package" (including exclusive use of the serial)?

That being said this sounds like a great promotion, but I keep all my games close to me so I won't be jumping on this.
Even if you aren't going to stay, you can get a free old game from the signup offer...
I go to the forums and try to go to the help section and I get this:
!!!
They don't trade games with serials
I demand an answer to this gentleman's question.
