I don't know if this is the place for requests, but I'm looking for a new free MMORPG with at least a bit of depth but I'm looking for one that's just getting off it's feet, you know so it's still community driven and shit before all the douches get in. And also so I'm not one of few people stuck down the bottom while everyone else is miles ahead constantly. Any thing like this? Because I have too much free time on my hands at the moment.
For all of you playing Maple Story, if you wanna guild up I have enough money to make and upgrade it
Just give out your names or whatever or say when you'll be able to meet to initially form it.
After that we can just invite people that want to join.

Marty: The future, it's where you're going? Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.

Besides being generic and Korean, is the combat system enjoyable? I mean, a lot of these games give you the feeling that you push a button and then wait for your character to do the action you want it to do. I hate that.
Entropia Universe (Formerly Project Entropia) + Wiki
Region: America
Genre: RPG/FPS
Setting: Sci-fi
Price: Free to download and play, but you won't be able to equip yourself properly until you buy some in-game currency, which you ideally want to use to make more of said currency.
Notes: Not played it myself, but it seems like an interesting, unique experiment in virtual economies. More structured than Second Life, but just as capitalist and cutthroat, and less accessible for those unwilling to pay real money. Let the buyer beware.
Region: America?
The makers of Entropia, MindArk, is a swedish company. The servers are aswell situated in Sweden.
Also a little note on the note; While what it is saying basically is true, comparing EU to SL sounds as if they are kind of same genre.. Since alot of games has jumped on the SL wave.
However Entropia has action, PK'ing, hunting and ingame made professions and skills much like other MMO's, not just a game buildt up around a community such as Second Life is. They are very different, only thing they have in common is Real Cash Economy, and ability to upload your own artwork into the game (EU in a smaller scale then SL)
Didn't see this in the first or last couple of pages, so sorry if it was somewhere in the middle, but
Last Chaos(link)(download.com link)
Region: America
Genre: RPG
Setting: Fantasy
Price: Free, with microtransactions if you want (think maplestory)
Notes: FANTASTIC graphics for a free MMO, full 3D and everything.
Devs seem to care about the community, with weekly (or more) events, competitions, and a cool "guardian" system where if a new player sets up a player above lv20 as their "guardian", if the new player gets to a certain level within a week then the new player gets an event item and the older player gets points to spend in the store. Really encourages players to interact. Cool quests and instanced dungeons etc. from what I've seen so far.
SubSpace / ContinuumWiki
Country of origin: US
Genre: Space Ship Fighter
Setting: Space
Price: Free
Notes: It's an incredibly fun and addictive game. Choose from 8 different ships with different abilities which might vary from server to server. The servers are all pretty different but the most populous server, Trench Wars, has a "capture and hold the base" as its main thing. Besides that they are tons of different games headed by the mods which are really fun. It has a very dedicated fan following so always expect to see others on. I can't recommend this game enough. One of the best free games you can find out there.
omg this is still around?? i played this nearly.. 10 years ago at Uni. we'd sit in the computer labs doing this instead of our c.s projects awesome fun
That is more of an FPS with some RTS.
I did enjoy it ever so and am looking forward to the sequal. If they put it on PS3 and 360 I imagine it could make a nice splash.

Perhaps a new, more secure forum is in order?
My dad did a lot of the artwork for it, and so I had a free account. But after a while, the company went defunct.
I guess Dennis managed to revive it.

It's kind of like Ragnarok Online, but more 3D.
Nice bright graphics.
Sea battles.
*Free for life* (So they say)
I'm downloading the client now, might be something worth looking into.
