So...is it just me, or does anyone else get this sort of offline co-op vibe from that video? That feature hasn't been announced yet, right? I was kind of iffy on it, and figured it was just top-bottom placement of two screens, but when the cutscene hits, it jumps, without hitch, to a single screen cutscene, then back to split screen. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

I really hope that is the case. Because then I'll be playing this with my flatmate, who is always around and able to game, instead of a succession of strangers and semi-strangers.
Also, the zulu warrior zombies look awesome. Really, it would be kind of a shame not to include them, since there's all this mythology and interesting history to tap into once you're placing the game in Africa - not tapping into it means you might as well put it in not-Spain.
BTW, is it just me, or does it look like their shields don't stop bullets? I'll be very happy if that's the case.
Yeah, if you watch that video I linked, and compare it to the single player one on gametrailers' website that takes place in the same cave area, you can notice a few things. First off, on the co-op one, when it goes to a cutscene, it does so seamlessly, as well as transitioning back seamlessly. Also, you'll notice that Sheva's UI is mirrored to that of Chris's. Why would that be done on online co-op. Also notice the complete lack of lag, as well as the slightly lowered graphics in the co-op gameplay video.

Many parts of Africa have very flat plains areas. Really it is no different than your run of the mill abandoned secret research base under say a town or in a mountain.
I've had a silver japanese live account for a while and nothing has happened. I tried using the trial code that came with my copy of Gears 2 to create a gold japanese account but it keeps saying the code is invalid. Are you limited to one trial code per 360 or something?

Just played through the demo, really awesome stuff there.
If anyone wants to play online co-op, add "Klyka" and send me a message.
capcom found out and now theyve region locked the demo, so even if you have a jap account you cant play it, but there are links for the demo online, you can burn to dvd and play on the 360 and it works fine, been playing abit of it.. its fantastic, just like re4 with some re0 stuff thrown in and real time inventory.. which may be a bad thing in the long run.
