They can't transition from live to fake in game - "real" Chris doesn't have arms the size of his head. Of course, nobody really cares about strange transitions after all of the Final Fantasy FMV.
I wish capcom would fix some of the animations for 5, before its released. Its honestly the only fault i have with the demo. When the zombies sort of snap to a window, when they're about to climb into a room, it can sometimes look a bit ridiculous.

Ok, the title of the OP is annoying me. Why is evil resident for the 4th time, and not the the 5th time? Did I imagine RE3?

Technically it should be the 6th time unless we imagined code veronica.
Technically, it should be the 7th time unless we imagined Resident Evil 0.
I think we could do this all day with this franchise.

Speaking of films, uh has anyone else seen the new CG movie Degeneration yet? I wasn't expecting much but it really delivers.
As a movie it's actually quite decent. As a Resident Evil movie it's fan-fucking-tastic. Less dog karate kicking and more Leon and Claire busting zombie heads. I was amazed that they had the original VAs and everything. The actors are pretty good when they don't have a fucking awful script to work with. There are even a few in-jokes here and there.

Leon sucked because I jsut dont buy him being a bad ass afer he was a rookie cop, not when Claire is still such a pansy for the majority of the film. It was nice to see some classic zombie action and hte return of the G-Virus though, G doesn't get enough respect.
That big reveal at the end though? What alet down.

exactly, i was still holding out for wesker, hell i thought the english guy was wesker in disguise.. and i agree with the rookie cop thing, and it was all pretty stupid the guy injected the g into himself for no real reason, i mean berkin had a reason for doing it even if he didnt know what would happen to him.
Indeed. Its why I liked Birkin so much, he was a man of desparation, dying who used his own creation as a last resort to stab back at the people stealing his lifes work and murdering him. New guy has a reason to be sad sure, but no reason to use G.

I always thought Leon becoming a secret agent after RE2 was ridiculous, but after beating RE4 I guess I've just come to accept it. I thought it was interesting though how Claire and Leon both chose to fight the virus in their own ways.
I don't think Claire is that much of a pansy considering
She was prepared to fight off hordes of zombies with nothing but an umbrella.
They wrapped everything up a little too neatly at the end though, followed by the required DUN DUN DUN sequel opening.

Yeah but with a handgun, Leon never broke a sweat, even against G, he's just running and gunning and that last sequence where he jumped from one unit to the other at near Wesker speed? And Claire kinda bugged me from the part where she just huddles over the kid instead of doing what she does 10 seconds later which is just climb the fuck back up to where she was, quite easily to.
Overall it was a good story though for that series but the blonde guy was a total letdown. Expected much more from him. But
Have you played Umbrella Chronicles? No, you don't get to be a Keanu Reeves badass, but in most of the games featuring Wesker you'll have a chance to see what he was up to.
IMO they took the Wesker thing too far. He was just meant to be a two-faced douche but they retconned him into a mini-genius who had a hand in everything you've experienced in every game...yet he somehow worked for a long time in STARS.

Thats what always bothered me too. I only played 1, 2 and then skipped 3 and went right to Code Veronica, and I loved when Wesker showed back up. But everything since then has been too bizarre. Umbrella Chronicles, while I enjoyed it a lot, was way too much for me. Too many times I wondered how what I was playing meshed with the original games, and it didn't add up.
Personally - although I gather there's a little mention in 3 - I want to know what Barry Burton is doing. Most underused person in the whole series, after what he did in 1.

Last time I criticized RE for having a nonsensical overall timeline / plot, I was flamed for being retarded.
There are so many viruses, villains, and outbreaks that the entire world should be fucked over twice and a half.
I knew the series' plot was no better than a third-rate anime when characters started cross-dressing or showing up for work in traditional Japanese funerary garb.
Fuck anyone who criticises RE2. I loved the story and atmosphere of that game. The cop who you find injured who turns, burnt out stores, notes, the jail cell, the garage, the sewers, everything. It was RE3 where shit fell down big time, like having a giant kill gun in RC.
EDIT: And the psychotic police chief who had been hunting down and killing his own officers. Brad turning up as a zombie, all the little touches were excellent.
I still maintain and can not in any way be persuaded from my stance that Code Veronica is the best game in the series. It is more than likely only that way because of the era it came out in for me (my girlfriend at the time bought it for me after I made her promise NEVER to buy it for me because it would be TOO TERRIFYING!) and I was one of the only kids with a Dreamcast, so people kept asking me for updates as I progressed through the game.
I recently re-played it though and it stands up to the test of time very well.

I imagine the game as a whole will be no more or less scary than RE4. What I have played of it seems firmly based in the "tense zombie action" than "terrifying horror".
I actually just picked up Code Veronica and Resident Evil 1, both gamecube versions. The remake of the first is the only main resident evil title i've never completed. I seem to remember falling into some game breaking glitch, but i can't for the life of me remember what exactly it was.
I'm thinking of getting 2&3 on the gamecube. From the reviews i gathered, nothing was really improved in the ports. Also, they originally retailed for a ridiculous price. But now that they are cheap on ebay, i think i'll pick them up. Resident Evil 2 is still one of my favorite games ever to this day.
Considering the lack of Wii games i play these days. The Wii is now a white box that plays resident evil games in my eyes.
RE2 is the pinacle of the series in terms of everything, plot, atmosphere and multiple playthroughs actually impact things and change stuff significantly. I love it.
I won't argue about it but RE4 changed the world too much and made it too much action and less survival and so while I will watch video and read upon the plot the to see whats hapenning, I can't play it, I just dont like it.

No it wasn't. The OP made a mistake and has not corrected it.
Maybe it is a joke or something. I know at one point we had a thread about RE4 that became about RE5.
Also, OP has been busy making the best Secret Santa gift, I think we can cut him some slack.

I have my doubts.
Resident evil 1 (remake) on the cube is probably still the scariest game for me. Fucking Lisa.
