I have played the Sims far too much; my buildings are dictated by the needs of the Sims. For ease of playing I'll always recommend one ground floor bathroom, at least two flights of stairs to any floor, plenty of kitchen counter tops and plenty of musical instruments/things that can get a Sim happy really quickly. Oh, and corridors/passages need to be at least two squares wide so Sims can pass each other easily.

The Sims 3 actually looks like it's gonna have a realistic weight slider. So it won't just go skinny - normal - potbelly, there's all kinds of in-betweens.

Yeah but then you'll have to wait months and months as they gradually release expansions just like with the first two games. At least with 2, most of the expansions are already out and the game itself is pretty cheap if you don't already have it.
Right, but by the time 3 actually comes out, I should probably be a) back in Amerca and b) in a monetary position to actually get all these expansions as they come out.

Only one I don't have out of those is seasons, and Pets isn't installed unless I find the manual which I might have packed away already...
It's really easy to export/upload! Just go to neighbourhood view and click on a house and then 'export' and you can either export directly to the Sims 2 website or to a file location (and then upload it yourself).
I'm soooo wishing I had more expansion packs even though I have quite a few. They always add really nice furniture. >.>
i have this ladder i really want to put in the house, it takes up one square. it is the best custom content. i wonder if i can package the mesh and such with it when i send the house

Because that doesn't sound so bad.
Nah, the game gets confused and tries to mesh eyes that are all the way to the right with cheeks all the way to left. So it results in most of the face coming apart and clipping through everything. It's really terrifying.
