Goddamn mother of...
One of the major reasons I switched from Dalaran, where all my characters had been up till now, was because of the queue. Every time I tried to login lately, there was a 100-200 person waiting list.
So, Sargeras is Medium pop, according to the server list, and the OS rolls there, so it's a nice place to make friends as long as you're willing to fuck some goats and such... Now I install my TBC-pack last night, and try to log in... Lo and behold, a 150-person queue to get into Sargeras.
Anyone else hit a line trying to play last night? This was late, too, I didn't try to get on until about midnight, EST.
By the by, Dalaran? No queue at the same time. Go figure.
Yep, Sarg had quite the queue last night. I think I was waiting around a half hour-ish.
You...you aren't surprised are you? You know, opening day, top-selling game? The math's right there. Give it some time to settle down and let people use the free transfers away. I wouldn't be getting freaked out quite yet.
Alternately: EVERYONE PANIC! THE END IS NIGH!

I'm surprised, in that prior to the x-pack, Sargeras wasn't even listed as a "High Population" server. And for there to be a queue at midnight, but none on Dalaran... that was a little weird.
If Dalaran had been a wait as well, I wouldn't have thought anything of it. I was just worried that a lot of rerolls were directed to Sargeras. Even if it dies down, the pop may have gone up significantly.
You think that's bad? I went to Auchindon last night to create my draenei characters because it was one of the just-announced servers. 900 person queue, and then when I got in, character creation was disabled. They are already offering free transfers off Auchindon, and it was just opened.

I'm choosing another server for my draenei.

It's because Sargeras is one of the original servers, and it has a ton of cancelled accounts to be re-activated for TBC's launch.

Well I just started on Hydraxis (PvE CT) and it is one of the servers where absolutely no 60s exist or atleast as of the weekend when I started there wasn't but meh people can powerlevel. No transfer onto it are allowed for 6 months and the gates are closed. Look for those servers if you really want that fresh taste again. But if you don't then Jaedenar(PvP ET) (the other server I started on) is one they offered transfer to and is still recommended but has people on it already.
I'm going to Alterac Mountains. Opened this month, EST time zone, and no queue last night.
EDIT: OH, and you couldn't pay me to roll PvE.
Meh I started PvE so this is my first real dose of PvP server. But I play WoW like it is a Solo RPG most of the time. The MMO parts that I like about it are the 5 man grouping for instances, random grouping for quests that are too hard, guild chat to pass the slow parts, and an economy that I can use to my advantage. No save points has also helped me become a better gamer as well. I am just now starting to like PvP but at first this really was a PvE game for me and I didn't want to attack people or be attacked.

And that's exactly why I hated PvE (where I rolled my first character), because it was less interesting than playing Elder Scrolls: Morrowind. Honestly, there are very few solo PvE situations that are going to get you killed if you're careful (except murlocs). As much as it aggravates me to get corpse camped by some dickhead twelve-year old, I'd rather have the sense of danger of a PvP server than the numbing security of a PvE server.

Also, on a PvE server, I can't be the dickhead.
I tried Morrowind and found myself always turning on the cheat codes. It was a great game but I never felt at home in the game like I do in WoW. And I find several situations in PvE where I die from being stupid. But I often like to bite off more then I can chew.
We are most likely not moving. It's being discussed by the officers, and so far 4 out of 9 officers are against it with one more "meh" about it. Azou (Rorus Raz) also pointed out that free transfers can end with no notice, leaving people who didn't do their transfer up shit creek. If we really want to change, we should wait for a server split.
Is there any particular reason we would move? Just because there are queues following TBC's launch?
Sargeras has had queue issues for a long, long time. The queues went away as TBC got nearer and the 40-man raids started to die out, but at the height of the realm, if you got disconnected on raid night, you could end up in a 45-minute queue. It's really no surprise to me that the queues are back now. As someone else pointed out (again, I think it was Azou), Sargeras is also an old server which means potentially tons of old accounts that re-activated for TBC.
However, the issue with accepting the free transfer is that it is too disorganized and tenuous, and thus we might end up splitting the guild. If it ultimately comes to a realm split, everyone automatically goes where Jt (the guildmaster) goes, and we can keep the whole guild together with minimal effort. It's a much better route for us.
Tyrannus rejoined OS last night. Our bestiality quotient increased a hundredfold.
So then we can blame you for this? I see. Now when he gets all worked up, no bitching when when you find his wild, thrash-humping body cannot be removed from your leg. Just sayin'. I think that's the rule.

I can't join you Karf, i'm still GM of CTS. So i'm here to say that i'm ready for my spanking you hot gnome stud.
That is to say, you will hurt me in ways no man should ever feel pain.
So much spankings.

We don't plan to, but maybe if Rhyma comes back to Sarg we will have to build a new server where he can't get to us!
I sure hope not. I just moved TO Sargeras.
It's just..
Well, how do you put something like this delicately, so as not to be banned.. Hmm.
You smell. Like, really bad. You know the smell of rotting meat? With maggots already layed in the rotting flesh? Yeah, you smell like that.

I thought that was what you wanted.
We are up for free transfers if not enough people transfer off blizz will probly split the realm.
Or do goats get free transfers, too?
I'm just saying... It might be something to think about.
