i really like doing little lame tricks, like changing suits mid-combo or mid-sping attack.
it's so nerdy, but just starting a combo as one suit and finishing in another is awesome...

for a while i had trouble with the wall-stickyness. it was weird i had to 'latch' onto the wall, and spidey didn't just do it automatically. now that i'm used to it, it makes sense, but i still feel i should be more fluid when getting onto a wall, considering how polished the other animations and actions are.

I gotta say, although I really like the costume switching in this game, it would have been brilliant if the black costume were actually loyal to the comics and made Spidey faster, stronger and tougher, and gave him extra powers.

That wouldn't be loyal to the comics, actually.

In comics, it only gave him organic webbing and costume change. Nothing else.

Brock is stronger then Parker because the costume copied Spider-Man's powers and gave them to him - powers being the proportional strength and speed of a spider. And as Eddie Brock is way taller, stronger and more muscular then nerdy Peter Parker to begin with, he became better.

The reason why Carnage is stronger then either Venom or Spidey is because the symbiote gave him both Parker's and Venom's powers. And the reason why Toxin is stronger then Carnage goes the same way.

I thought the suit improved his abilities slightly? Like made him a bit stronger and improved reflexes?

It did in the cartoon anyway.

Yes, once you hit level 10 all uncollected spiders will show up as little red icons on the minimap - not the main pause map, just the minimap.

No the symbiote made Peter enjoy combat more, gave him something of a combat high, and that caused him to become more violent with his moves, being less careful with how he treated opponents, not pulling his punches etc. So it gave the illusion of him being faster and stronger.

You know, when I was playing Spider-Man 3 I used to play this song from my 360 and just walk through the streets as Spidey, just strutting along, doing my "own thang".

And this reminds me of my only real gripe with WoS: YOU CAN NOT WALK!
I can't do the awesome strutting to James Brown anymore, pretending to whistle at all the women on the streets. Hell, in this game they would even CLAP AT ME for it.

    I need walking DLC :(

its an alternate "what if?" universe where spider-man and crew never go home after the secret wars.

for those not in the know, spidey discovered the symbiote during the secret wars. by the end of the what if?, spidey has permanently bonded with the alien, no longer requires food to survive, and has been reduced to nothing more than goop on a skeleton.

    giant spoiler about this game

[spilier]HOLY SHIT THIS GAME IS FUN EVERYONE SHOULD PLAY IT.[/spoiler]

anyhoo. here's some info I noticed on swinging and whatever comes to mind.

yeah. sticks to air. but it has rules. it only sticks as high as the tallest building near you. so jump off and away from a super tall building and you're going to fall until you get near/under the height of the tiny buildings way below you.

    you can do a 270 degree swing, I didn't try for a 360 but I'm sure it's possible.

while you can swing around corners, as said before, i haven't seen webs stick to objects in the way. like if you swing under a lamp post it won't restick and adjust to the lamp post, it will go through it.

there's two second jumps, which combine to a triple jump. a and a+rb (or was it a+lb) are double jumps. a+lb is kind of a forward spin with red trails (didn't do it as black suit), while a is just a regular flip.

so while I don't like web sticking to air, the way it's done in this game is a great compromise and a perfect way to do it if the developers want to be able to stick to air.

little greifs on my mind at the moment: RB when switching from run to crawl activates shield for a split second and it's jarring (but understandable with that control scheme). second, i haven't figured out the jump-on-car controls because a few times with black suit i land on the front hood and pick up the car flip it and body slam it into the ground. don't know how i did it and it's a lot cooler than the jump bounce web bounce animation thing i've been doing.

I never watched the 3rd movie, but in the comics, the symbiotes do boost his powers, but the side effect is that it also makes him more aggressive, like you said. If it wasn't a power-enhancer, then why else could a normal human like Eddie Brock be more powerful than Spidey with the suit?

Also, how come Gabe hasn't been able to mention this game at all in the comic, since he's so obsessed with Spidey?

Um, I thought you just did the trail jump by jumping again as soon as you landed? For a while I thought it was done with a bumper myself, but after trying to constantly jump and mash a bumper and having no luck, I found out it's just done by jumping as soon as your feet hit the ground.

strange how i constantly did it in the air with no building near me as a way to get to areas without a zipline. I'll check it again later.

oh and the zip line is great, it's small enough to act as the double jump i wished for earlier (where it's justified by pulling a quick web line) and the double jump is a small enough flip that's it's not too crazy.

(Disclosure: I am Treyarch's main Wii Graphics Programmer Dude)

    I hate reviewers sometimes.

"Even at 480p there are jaggies!" newsflash. 480p has just as many lines on the screen as 480i, and updating them faster doesn't make jaggies go away.

"Things are muddy!" The city is covered in zombie goo. What do you expect?

"Things aren't shiny!" If they were, you'd complain even more about jaggies, as you'd have a billion sparkly pixels flashing around.

"There's not enough stuff around!" That sort of thing happens when one has to figure out how to make a game show up on a system with 80% less ram and 88% less CPU. So sorry we used memory getting all of the combat moves in rather than drawing all the little sparkly bits of mica and such in the sidewalk.

"It looks barely above average for a wii game!" ... Please, have you *seen* the screenshots from the new hulk game? And anyone that brings up Conduit fails immediately until it actually comes out.

There's one mission I'm confused about.
When you need to ride Rhino to break through the prison, I'm at the part where you need to take out the generators. If I try to crash Rhino into them, it just knocks me off and a message pops up telling me to double tap X to interact with it. If I do that with Rhino I fall off, and I can't do anything with spidey alone. am I missing something?

    EDIT: nevermind. figured it out.
