The headset I use for my PC doesn't work. I need to go find me a PS2 usb one or a cheap bluetooth one tomorrow. Hmm...
If you are sitting within 10 feet of the PS3 or you don't mind adding a USB extension, I highly recommend going with a corded headset. There are some bluetooth headsets that are a real pain in the ass to get working, and even if you luck out with one that isn't, the sound quality is still pretty shit compared to USB.
I have a PS2 one that I bought when MGO first came out with Subsistence, but it is either 2000 miles away, or buried in my closet. I am in no mood for either, so I am just gonna search for a corded one tomorrow.
I just went through the ID registration on my PS3...it went totally fine and painlessly the first time. Guess I got lucky?

That's a very good question. The guys on 1up Yours were talking about how the closed Japanese beta also used the Konami ID backbone rather than PSN so....maybe?

Dunno about Japan, they had a closed Beta earlier on in the year. I assume that the UK and US will overlap as we're all getting the Beta at the same time.

Alright guys, I think I found out how to trick the service so that we can all register. I just tried this trick myself and it worked on my second try.
(I apologize in advance if someone found this out and already posted)
Step 1:
Open two tabs in Firefox or your web cruiser of choice...
Step 2:
On tab one keep doing the register button until you finally hit the 'enter information' page. Enter in all your information but do not hit register just yet. Position the page to be ready to click next.
Step 3:
In tab two click the register button and go all the way to the 'enter information' page. The moment you get to the page click back to tab one quickly and press the next button.
Step 4:
Confirm.
This little trick makes the system think your IP is going from page to page very fast, so it shouldn't give you the time out error. I tried it twice, and on the second go it worked. If this worked for anyone please write back in, I want to know if what happened to me was a fluke.
There had better be a fucking clan option after all of this.
If they don't have one I am going to freak. Going out of our way to make all this, they better be offering something unique that they can't do with PSN accounts.

When you right click on a field you can tell it to save all fields and the next time you get to the page you only have to click next. Took me two tries and a total of 3 minutes with this method.

Anyone know of a website that has working preorder keys stocked, now? I might just end up having to throw another five/ten dollars down, if I want in. I'm going to send one final email, but I seriously doubt anything will come of it.

I would recommend calling your gamestops. I preordered mine on thursday, and there were still a couple of stores that had beta keys.

That was one of the first things I did. According to the guy who was at the counter when they opened up, he had gotten an email saying that all their keys were bad. The only other gaming store is hours away, so it's more trouble then it's worth, if it comes down to that.
So either something's wrong or I have the worst luck ever. No matter what ID I put in for konami/game it says they're both unavailable. I put together the most random string of words and still it's unavailable. I'm using lower case, periods, hyphens, underscores only. Between 8-32 characters. I'm about to give up. I'm even using the two tab trick.
Still having no luck, even trying the two tab trick and the auto form filling addon. This is beyond idiotic that we need to use tricks, what next, putting your keyboard in slot 2? :P
