Korver starts dropping threes
Every one of them just looked solid
Even Okur wasn't doing so great but he got a ton of rebounds
Though I'm quite upset with Phoenix for blowing Game 1 at the end of regulation and then at the end of first overtime. To maximize Utah's chances, other teams need to knock out the Spurs and Lakers, the two western teams that can give them serious problems. The Spurs have a HCA against the Jazz for years and years that's as fierce as the Jazz's HCA against everyone this season, and the Lakers are the only playoff team this year that managed to win their season series against Utah. Utah won against or tied every other playoff team in the regular season.
Anyway, the Spurs managed a close, very close win. At home. If they can't turn it up a notch or two more, that Phoenix crowd might force that series to go the distance. Assuming the Suns don't win one in SA before game 7. And Denver, who I'd been watching for months, hoping they'd fall out and Golden State would stay in, shows up with an annoyingly potent offense when I've expected them to lose. So they might actually outgun the Lakers, I dunno. But I do know that 1-8 in the west this year is much closer than most 1-8s in recent memory, and definitely closer than the east's this year. I gotta hope Denver manages the upset, because I know Utah can handle Denver (with homecourt), I don't know if they can say the same about Los Angeles (without it).
At least some guys who run calculations (and apparently accurately predicted the last 16 teams of the NCAA tournament) say that the most likely finals is Utah vs. Boston with Utah winning, for what that's worth. Interesting predictions, though. And bold, too; they expect the Lakers, the Spurs, AND the Hornets to fail to get out of the first round. I had no idea my ideal playoff scenario was quite that mathematically favorable.
LA probably wins
you can bet the NBA and the tv networks would love it too
The maximum would be NYC/LA, but the closest out of teams that are actually in the playoffs would be Philadelphia/LA. And Toronto's not on the list so I have no idea where they'd rank. Probably closer to the top than the bottom.
hot
In other news, Deron Williams and Chris Paul are going to be so entertaining to watch over the next 15 years or so.
Can't we just enjoy their bodies of work
And I somehow have the feeling that the NBA (i.e. Stern) will make sure, that this finals pairing happens ... tough I hope, that the Hornets make it to the Finals .
Lakers won, Denver scored a lot, but that is expected. Denver won't beat the Lakers their defense is awful. Lakers in 5 or 6.
Boston and Orlando dominated, not much to say about those games.
Washington vs. Cavs and Jazz vs. Rockets tomorrow.
I had the Wizards picked over the Cavs in the series but the bastards went and pissed off James, terrible idea, and now he is making them pay.
Jazz roll again tomorrow, and then onto SLC to cleanse the Rockets.
I've been trying to reach you, but your extension cord doesn't reach that far.

That is always what happens to the Pistons, they are arrogant to the point where they actually dont bother to play hard because they just assume they are better than everyone.
At least they should.
They better not lose at home.
