I remember the day that I discovered that edgemaster's gauntlets were the best warrior gloves until AQ40.

And you still couldn't sell them for more than 40 gold.

Stoneform is amazing for removing wound poison and for dwarf rogues to remove a rupture and reset the fight/gain an advantage in rogue vs rogue situations. WotF is great too, war stomp is cool, perception rocks, basically what I'm saying is everything has it's own situational use and awesomeness. Crazy, I know!

Couple of interesting tidbits today. The first, and least interesting, is a small article talking about how Blizzard says there's no reason Conan and WAR can't suceed right alongside wow, and that they think WoW will eventually be surpassed at one point. Nice to know they haven't let success go to their heads. Source: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=140893

The second, and most interesting, is Blizzard talking about their thoughts on a graphical update for WoW.
Eurogamer: Do you think WOW is ever going to need a complete overhaul of the engine?

    J. Allen Brack: That's actually something we talk about every expansion. It's interesting, two games have really tried that before, Ultima Online tried it and EverQuest tried it as well, and in each case it was only somewhat successful. In each case a lot of people continued to play with the original client, because it was faster, or they preferred it, or were just used to it or whatever. And so for me as a game developer, the idea that we would spend so much time and energy on something and have people go, "meh, that's not really for me," that's not very exciting.

So I don't think there's really a clear model as to how to do that successfully. The model we have with Wrath of the Lich King allows people with high-end machines some additional graphical effects, and then we'll have some kind of fallback for the people who don't. Will we need a graphical update from the ground up at some point? Yep, probably. And I'm positive we'll talk about it next expansion

wow... as all you guys jump up and QQ about how your horde racials are not overpowered, you forgot that blizzard is trying to turn this into an Esport

it kind of looks bad when people have to min/max and munchkin around racials too... thats why i bring this up

i kid you not when i say there are thousands of undead rogue/undead caster teams built to jump the CC time on fear teams... are fear teams that great in 2v2... probably not... ok great, then why so many undead?

id make the same claim about the tournament servers, but i dont think i have enough data yet besides what everyone is crying about in the forums that 3v3 is dominated by Undead Rogue, Undead mage, Undead priest

personally... i can see blizzard removing racials from arena soon... mark my words

That's the reason it has very limited use in PvP. I've found myself using AP trinket + berserking + SnD when I need to nuke down a healer, specifcally when I'm nuking a resto shammy, but I'm not sure if it's worth it even then. I just happen to have it in a macro with the trinket.

About resto druids, I play the rogue in a rogue+boomkin duo and for us, druid healers on the opposing team aren't that bad (but of course, that's compensated for by the fact that many other setups are stupidly difficult for us). In some fights (us vs. druid+hunter for example) the boomkin just goes into healing mode and has 50% mana left in the end when the restodruid is out. In warrior + druid fights we can generally keep the warrior under control while keeping pressure on the druid until he's dead. It seems rogue + boomkin is decent against almost all dps+healer duos, excluding the horror that is pally+hunter or pally+warrior. If we can't cripple or root or reliably cyclone them we're screwed.

Of course, we haven't played that many weeks with this setup (my arena experience before this has mostly been healing as a holypally in 3vs3 until it became horrible) and are still hovering between 1500-1600 so maybe this changes.

I don't know if it was true or not, but I remember reading a while back that using troll berserking as a rogue when you have full health actually lowers your dps or didn't actually increase it. The 10 energy was basically better spent elsewhere. No idea if that was true or not though.

They have to make an estimate to get preorders in their system. If it's not posted by Blizzard you probably should ignore it.

I still think it's late summer early fall because they can patch in the end game yet again

For the record, they're pretty much said the final encounter with Arthas won't be patched in until much later.

I think he meant like the equivalent of patching in SSC/TK a few weeks or months after the expansion releases. Arthas isn't going to be patched in until the NEXT expansion is about to be released, like Kil'jaeden.

Also I keep wondering if at some point they'll just remove Sunwell Radiance, nice sweeping way to nerf the whole place without actually having to change any of the boss mechanics.
