I didn't want to be Catwoman, but it makes me want to play as her knowing most people won't. Either her, Green Lantern, or the Joker.

I never had any interest in the Green Lantern (hell, I never read DC comics). He was one of those guys I knew about, but as a casual comic fan. Seeing him in the game making shapes with his ring and pounding people, well, that looks like fun. He will probably be one of my top DC guys.
edit: Just watched this. Very fun. It is nice seeing them play like normal people.

OK. The shipping info for my game says that it is at the post office, which is 6 minutes from my house. If they don't deliver it today, I will walk over there and get it myself. Anyone up for playing anytime before around 3-4? I am heading out today to my friend's place and we are seeing the new 007 movie (plus, it's Wednesday which is pizza night and everyone comes over to hang out...and play MKvsDC!).

So, I played a ton last night after playing with my arcade stick at my friends. I used the regular controller to not make much noise since everyone was sleeping. I wanted to shoot someone, but I dealt with it.
I use the joystick for most of the match and slide my thumb down to the d-pad to do jumps. Now I understand why the controls suck, although I am 3-2 or so in ranked matches. I feel like an asshole. I was Liu Kang one match and probably could've kept doing the sweep kick all match and beat the guy (which I almost did). I felt bad.
Yeah - watching the fatalies is just sad. I can honestly say that MK Armageddon, which had terrible, non-character specific fatalies is even better than these watered down cop outs. Plus, Armageddon had Meat sliding around on pools of his own blood which is fantastically cool.
Why did they change Joker's fatality? It was actually good before.
Midway are a bunch of pussies and are trying to appeal to a wider audience.
Hey Midway. All the kids who grew up reading these comic books and playing your first Mortal Kombat games? Yeah we're old enough to buy an M game. Assholes.

Basically it boiled down to if Midway wanted the DC license, they had to play by DC's rules. They traded the ultra violence to use Supes and company.
Fans of the series have to just deal with it, according to Midway.
The person who came up with Kano's Fatalities needs a Fatality performed on them. Preferably one from previous MKs.
This. I was fine with most of the fake-talities, but his is the worst. Couldn't he have used his eye beam to burn a hole through them? That seems teen rating friendly. I mean, they have him throw knives into the person, which is way more realistic than laser beaming through their body. Plus, throwing the knives and having it stick in them is already a regular move for him.
well to be fair, I was like 10 when I got my gensis to play it on and didn't have the means to look them up. Damn dial up taking to long to get me to where I wanna be!

BTW, this game is great with the Hori stick. Screw sidestepping. I am playing this like the old school games. It is working well. Maybe I should record myself using it to show it off for potential buyers?
Man, the SNES version was such bullshit. Johnny Cage's fatality was him kicking his foot into their stomach; Sub-Zero did his freeze + smash thing, and there was no blood anywhere.

Wonder Woman killed Maxwell Lord by twisting his head and snapping his neck.
Black Adam killed Terra Man by ripping him in half. He also tore Young Frankenstein's arms off, killed Psycho Pirate by poking his eyes back through his brain and skull, tore Father Time's face off, and slaughtered the inhabitants of an entire country.
Black Mask brutally tortured Stephanie Brown (then acting as Robin) to death with a drill.
Solomon Grundy graphically tore off the newly-human Red Tornado's arm. And ate it.
Superboy Prime tore off former Teen Titan Risk's arm. A year later, he tore off the other. Superboy Prime also punched Pantha's head off, sliced Bushido in half with his heat vision, punched a hole through Wildebeest, and beat Earth 2 Superman to death.
Green Arrow put an arrow through Deathstroke's (bad) eye.
During the war with the Sinestro Corps, many Green Lanterns have been brutally murdered and maimed. Once the restriction against killing was lifted from Green Lantern rings, a number of GLs have murdered and maimed Sinestro Corps members.
Mongul punched his sister Mongal's head off.
The Amazons killed a number of U.S. citizens (including children) in cold blood.
That's just off the top of my head. And these are all things that happened graphically on-panel (with the exception of Stephanie Brown's being tortured, but we saw the aftermath), not off to the side like the Joker's gunshot in MKvDC.
