I think I am supposed to feel burned but instead I am just confused.
Anyway, it just seems like people do things with a lot of confidence - doing combos and rolling behind me and sidestepping my attacks. I on the other hand just kind of wing it and constantly cancel my attacks into laggy landings. Maybe other people do this as well and I just don't realize I'm very cleverly taking advantage of it.
I was hoping to get some fore Falco training, but Nintendo has to be a dick and ruin everyones fun. Good games while they lasted.

Quick question, what exactly are these 'higher' characters as I thought each character could potentially be played to astounding degrees of success since they each have different advantages/weaknesses?

Brawl is astonishingly well balanced, especially consider the sheer size and variety of the roster, but it's still generally accepted that some characters are more effective and win more often overall (Snake, R.O.B., Metaknight) and others are just this side of tragic (Ganondorf).
Of course, tiers change the longer a game is out, so we'll see where things stand in a few months.
Ganondorf just has some horrendous matchups. Vs. a fair chunk of the cast, he's okay. Samus, Capt. Falcon and Peach were way overnerfed and are somewhat hopeless and Sonic is trash vs. most of the lineup but it's mostly well balanced.
Ganondorf is tragic? Really? I've found his attacks to hit quite hard though I don't like his recovery moves.
But okay, I can see the point since I tend to use Metaknight a lot and the fact I dread Snake and R.O.B opponents.
Ganondorf's attacks are very laggy so any decent player can punish you for missing with certain attacks. He can't give chase off edge like other characters can, and his recovery is fairly poor compared to people like Meta Knight. Even his heavy weight can work against him, since people like Toon Link can juggle him from low damage.
Don't listen to Taramoor anyway though. By this time tomorrow he will be cursing out his name when I'm done with him. I suppose UltraChrist will tag along as well.
I'm not sure why, but the more I'm playing Peach, the more I'm liking her. I don't know if it's because people don't usually play against her and aren't practiced for her moves as much as other characters or what. But I find I can do well with her.

Diddy Kong, Zelda/Sheik, Toon Link, Meta Knight, Olimar maybe, Falco, Wolf, Marth, Mr. Game & Watch, Snake...
Those are mostly what I've picked up over the months, though Zelda and Olimar are most infamous for their extremely effective camping.

Sheik isn't as good as she was in Melee. It seems like the usefulness of Zelda and Sheik got swapped from the last game. Zelda can be pretty fantastic now, which is one reason I ditched Sheik and picked her up.

I meant them as a combined character, since you know, they're interchangable. But I guess you're right, I've seen Zelda users now but they're no better than Sheik users in Melee, always staying the same character, no strategic switching. It's kind of sad that I've seen better cooperation between Samus's two forms, which require a final smash or taunt combo.

'Strategic switching' isn't really an option in high level play since the transition takes so long. You either switch while the opponent is recovering (time which you should be spending harassing or guarding the edge), or you switch after the opponent dies. Anything else leaves you wide open to attack for about four seconds.
For friendly games though, it can be fun to play around with both.

Eh, I do it all the time as Pokemon Trainer, in both of those safe scenarios.
Of course he seems to work a lot better with the whole switching thing than Zelda/Sheik, expecially with the forced switch upon death. That helps a ton.
I was a zelda/sheik switcher in Melee, and I still do it in Brawl.
It's more helpful when FS's are on, but I still find it useful to switch it up now and again. It's less necessary because Zelda is much better, but Sheik's ability to really rack up the damage on certain characters can't be dismissed.

I need to finish Okami anyway.

That's too bad. I was getting so invested in just watching you in that Peach fight. You rock with her. Like damn.

Which was a shame because that was a good fight.
Look to play all you again some other time.
