Fun matches Andross. I just obtained headache, so I have to call it quits. When you're playing Diddy you don't use any Bananas. If you want to get good with him, you got to pull them out any chance you get and throw them at your opponent. That's whatt Diddy's mostly about I think.

I'll keep that in mind...
But as an aside, what do you do to practice brawl? I've read a thread over at smashboards that talks about practicing against a level 1-3 computer and trying to make every move hit. Is this a relevant practice routine or should I just continue to play in order to improve?
I've always just heard that you should find someone better than you and just fling yourself against them over and over. You're bound to improve eventually.

I pretty much did just this, but for characters you want to get good with, It really doesn't hurt to check out the character boards they have at Smashboards for all the things your chracter can do. Although most people there get really exicted when glitches and exploits are found, and I really don't like using them.

Hell, this is how I got better with Lucario. I just threw myself against MetaHybrid a bunch of times. Not only am I a better player, his Flame Choke combo only works about 20% of the time now.
Throw in some free for alls and it's a recipe for success.
Try playing people around here that are known for being consistently good. Munkus, ElKaboom if he's still around, MetaH apparently has been making the rounds, BlueBlue, maybe me when I'm not inebriated.

If no-one is online, would it be even worth it to do that "Play against a level 1-3 computer trying to make every move hit" or would it be better time spent rolling the dice in 'with anyone' to maybe end up with lag filled games?
What they want you to do in fighting a 1-3 computer is to learn correct spacing. You should know the range of your character's moves without thinking about them and learn how to make every hit count. Try looking at your opponent's character; you should know where your character is anyway. Try to follow them and use moves based on that, not simply spamming a smash attack because they are nearby.
You'd probably be better off fighting the computer, honestly, unless you want to get used to lag. Typically with anyones are 4 player matches and that's not really an ideal place to learn. Though, thats something else to do if you play online a lot -- learning how to cope with input lag. That will come after you play a lot of matches.
Not that I would've won with my prime game, either. I'm terrible at 3 or 4 man FFA matches. I can't get a rhythm, I end up between two people and wander out with 60% more damage than when I went in, I am a terrible defensive player.
EDIT: Additionally, at my 'best' - I am still ranked 2,000 for the PA forums, at least - that's where I was before everybody gots all that practice in - I would wager it's fair to rank me at spot # 4,000,000 now.

That happens a lot with me. It's even worse when it's two projectile people, which is usally why I try to keep both players on either side of me.
Tel, I believe EPIC is the only word to describe those 1v1s.
Sorry to leave in the midst of such excellent brawling but 1am is as far as I can push it this time.
Ron, I recieved no pop-up indicated you wanted to join the Brawl. Sorry if it rejected you.
yeah they were. Also I rejected people cause the matches were real good, so sorry folks if you tried to join. Man, I dont think I can do much about the combos, they come out so fast with such precedence. At times I felt like you were unstoppable, I could not get back to the stage. Yet other times, I felt like I had you figured out. I guess that is the nature of taking it one match at a time. Also I was surprised you picked Yoshi's Island that one time.

Also, being ranked #4,000,000?
Liar!
Fine, #3,999,999.
But yeah, I remember when I was DK I was basically just a punching bag. I had some really dumb deaths here and there, I tend to do them in FFAs but not really in 1v1s. I just can't concentrate when there's 3 or 4 people on the stage, I go into party mode and just try to whallop people.
I hope my pikachu was sufficiently cute and deadly.

It was deadly, but sadly I didn't see any "Piiikaaaaaa" Taunts.

I told you, I am off my game. I tried to stick off the taunts in general, though. You're right, I should do at least 3 Pikaaaa taunts every match as Pikachu, though.
If his downsmash weren't so freaking powerful, I probably wouldn't even be able to use him.

For the most part it was pretty back and forth though when you were on your game it was just sickening.
Dedede's up-tilt seems really strong, and that chain throw is as annoying as I remember.
I'm really starting to warm up to Snake's neutral-air. Doing just a little short hop and throwing that out just seems devastating if I time it right. I couldn't get much out of the grenades, though I did manage a grenade strip on castle siege at a crucial time, that was fun. I think my favorite moment was when you were plummeting to your doom and my falling Nikita rocket saved Dedede's chubby penguin ass. I think you went on to win that one, but I'm not sure.

I do remember that, but I forget if I won. I'd say my favorite moment that I can remember was when you killed me with a nice nikita or mortar (I forget which one). When I respawned I got a gordo off the random and it killed you, I thought that was completely lucky and a funny way to end the match. Some of the set ups you got in all our matches were pretty crazy haha.
You got your combos, I got my chainthrow I guess haha. Both things we hate. King Dedede's up-tilt is extremely good, like snake's combos, it comes out fast and has enormous killing power. Also I didn't hold back on the chainthrowing this time per our last 1v1s, except once on Delfino where I kept chainthrowing you against the wall.

That's good that you weren't letting up on the chainthrow. It keeps me on my toes, and I managed to catch you whiffing every now and again, so it's not all bad. The worst was that match on Castle Siege and the one time you walked me off of WarioWare. Besides, it's not like I was relenting on anything. I think I did that sliding mortar more times in our matches then I've EVER done it before. It just covers distance so fast and I needed to be over there for edgeguarding.
I know it's just a perception thing (like Puzzle Quest's cheating AI) but damn it seemed like you got those gordos just when you needed them.
I find myself constantly surprised at just how long the Nikita missile lasts. I've tracked some people for a long time with that thing.

One thing I know for sure is that the longer it takes to hit its target the more powerful the blast is. So if you can nail someone at the tail end of the thing it's about as strong as Snake's godly forward smash.

Ok, time to play my boss of the game music.
Cause I'm entering in the Sunday Smash thinger.
Cue fast paced organs and sinister choir with electric guitar melody.

Spamming the chain throw, eh? Yeah, that'll keep you on your toes. The best way to get around that though is to pick a light character, those can't get chaingrabbed.
Also if we ever have a Dedede deuce telmarine we should probably have a no-chaingrabbing treaty, because two Dededes doing nothing but chaingrabbing each other back and forth is about as stupid as it sounds. :P
I'm also looking for brawls at this odd hour if anyone's around. Also you guys who haven't get into that tourney tonight, what do you have plans or something? So far we have four people...
