Yeah I'm pretty sure that works. My friend used to find the Floor Down in no time at all.

It most definitely works, but the key is that it doesn't determine where on the floor the stairs down are, just the shape of the room containing the stairs, and 90% of the time a certain room shape will be in a certain area of the floorplan. Sometimes you get unlucky and it's right next to the waypoint on the wrong side, but still follows the rule.

If anyone needs help on East Ladder, feel free to message me. Account name is BarbaricMonkey.

Have a level 70 druid that just got into hell, and I'm missing Nightmare Baal runs already. I also somehow have the horadric staff leftover from normal difficulty, so it'd make a quick rush.

For smooth rushing the trick is to make a duriel mule for each difficulty level. Then you never need visit the maggot lair again.

ladder and non ladder are basically different realms until the next ladder reset

when the ladder resets all the ladder characters become non-ladder, and then you start over on the ladder or stay on the NL (which doesn't have certain runewords)

The important difference being that for Hellgate's extra perks cost money whereas D2's are freely accessible to anyone that puts in the effort.

So I accidentally dropped a perfect ruby into a pos wand when I was transferring items around, that ruby's gone right? I only saw a cube recipe to remove the gem from an item, but the gem will be destroyed.

Also, outside of finding items that have MF, where should I put my perfect topaz, armor or Hhelm, or both and what should I be looking out for in terms of # of sockets.

It should be Hel rune+ teleport scroll+ the item.

1 Hel Rune + Scroll of Town Portal + Any Socketed Item = Remove items from sockets
Warning: This will destroy any gems, runes, or jewels you have socketed. This is useful if you are not happy with the gems you have socketed and you want to socket the item in another way.

It's not part of the bnet interface, you manage/view it through slash-commands.

    /f a <accountname> adds someone to the list, /f r <name> removes them, /f l shows your list.
edit: and /f m or /f w followed by your message whispers to your entire friends list.

Here are 3 of my favorite mods for Diablo II L.O.D. :

    Volf's 1.11 Drop mod
    DOWNLOAD
Just like regular LOD but with better drop rates. If you play on Hard Mode and do baal (throne of destruction area) High Runes drop a lot.

    Median 2008
    DOWNLOAD
    Very colorful and challenging mod.

    Zy-El
    DOWNLOAD
The mod with the most content as far as i know. Tons of new items and recipes. Read the manual at the ZyEl site. The instruction book for ZyEl is HUGE! You can get up to Level 10,000!
