Except he's pretty much right and has laid out why, going "olol someones going to say X" doesn't make them any less wrong. Maybe you could offer a counter argument, as you know that's what forums are for - Discussions. Otherwise fuck off, nobody gives a crap about your 'snappy' one lines.

If only there were any posts about why he is as much of a reviewer as anyone.

Well there don't appear to be any in this thread, and even if there were that wouldn't make going "no u" any less inane would it?

Any use of an Internet meme is inane, what's your point?
And every time I look at these threads I see a "He's a reviewer because he talks about the first impressions of a game." Not as much as "I didn't laugh. I didn't even smile. Fuck all you people that agree with him.", sure, but I still see it.

Okay. He gives his opinion about a game, shares its strong and weak points with the audience and let's you know how he feels about the game overall. Sounds like a reviewer to me.
So what if Yahtzee isn't a "real reviewer". I've read real reviewers for over a decade and most are boring as shit, too busy rewording the publisher's product bullet points or too chicken shit to have a real opinion. I'd rather be entertained by Zero Punctuation that try to sift through print and web reviews like a miner looking for a nugget of gold.
Whether Yahtzee is a reviewer or not is fairly moot. The fact is that this really wasn't a review.
"I don't like fighting games. I don't like Smashbros. I don't like people who like fighting games and Smashbros"
The only two points of review he actually touched on were the camera angles, which in some cases is completely justified, and calling the game a "button masher." He is wrong about the second point, but regardless, he didn't enjoy himself and that's perfectly fine.
Edit: and he was dead on about the single player, obviously. I was actually a bit disappointed that he didn't rip on it a bit more.

See isn't that better, we're sharing and learning. I may not agree with you (I feel he's too content light and revels in his biases too much for a serious reviewer tm), but I see your point of view and may be influenced by it, I at the least shall take it into consideration.
Whether Yahtzee is a reviewer or not is fairly mute. The fact was that this really wasn't a review.

It's "moot."
Edit: Also, what constitutes a button masher? How is he wrong in calling Smash Bros a button masher?
Edit: Well, I'd classify a button masher exactly as he described it: a game with little depth of control where "mashing buttons" can yield better results than time and effort put into understanding the game.
I was pretty impressed with the single player in Brawl. Just the size of it. I was kind of shocked to see all that stuff just not be used in the vs. mode. It reminded me of something they had on th dojo. About the 8-track. They made so much of it but it is just a small square that is being used.
What you must realise is that this is similar to a religion debate. Christians will claim fact God exists, Atheists will claim fact he doesn't. Given neither can actually be proved, there is no fact.
son you ever hear of a thing called burden of proof
I don't see that many people getting bent out of shape. No more than any other thread on here. In this thread, however, we get the bonus of people being able to come troll.
I enjoyed the game, enjoyed the review, although it's not his best work.
Such an impressive contribution to any discussion. Please, continue your monosyllabic onomatopoeia's, I'm sure they only serve to increase the level of discourse every time they are beheld.

Yes, but this isn't a court of law. May I ask who or what you're wanting to apply it to, and why?

I really think the best part of this review is the bit about becoming THAT GUY for a game. I know I've done that for a few competitive games and felt ashamed for not being able to just have fun.

no honestly if you can't see that for yourself I don't think you really understand burden of proof.
I love the fact that Yahtzee can make an entire video basically deriding people who go onto forums and cry like screaming little girls with skinned knees about him giving a negative review of some game and the only deference to irony said idiots will manage to muster up is ending or prefacing their screaming tirades with "I'm not angry though"
I laughed, I cried. It wasn't his best, but it did have some gems. Plus I suddenly have this weird urge to check out Gametraders Robina, located at the Robina Town Center on Bazaar Street, just off the beltline!
Great, funny reviews, but fuck it if you can't have a straight conversation regarding them.
What would a straight conversation be, exactly?
"Hey, did you see the latest ZP review?"
"Yeah. Man, that part where Yahtzee swore a bunch and used a colourful metaphor was hilarious!"
"Totally. And I loved it when that little demon held a completely ridiculous prop and wore an outrageous costume!"
"Yeah!"
"Yeah!"
I mean, don't get me wrong, I like ZP, I thought this review was funny, but disagreement - even if it seems silly and "fanboyish" or whatever - keeps things from getting stale.

Then why don't you indulge me? This is assuming you aren't just trolling and actually have something valid to add of course.
I've always found it's best to not assume everyone knows what exactly what you're talking about, and to make your position as clear as possible from the start. I'm no expert on this subject, if you are (more than I am at least) then share your extra knowledge.

I don't think anyone is really complaining about the review being inaccurate, just saying that the issues he had with the game either don't bother them, or don't matter to them. No one is saying he is wrong.
Or maybe some people are, but that's not the majority of posts in this thread.

pretty funny, though.
You see he doesn't like all games ever made.
And by current gaming press standards he doesn't qualify Im afraid.

Oh if only.
That hurts us PAL gamers so much
Ok, now I'm laughing. Oh Yahtzee, you clever dog.
Well there don't appear to be any in this thread, and even if there were that wouldn't make going "no u" any less inane would it?

You're right. That was a typo.

Smashbros Brawl is not like that.

You should do us a favor and put the thread down, Old Yeller style. Only you have the power to make the world a better place.

Good christ I expect 20 pages of bitching on this.
