Edit: Well, I'd classify a button masher exactly as he described it: a game with little depth of control where "mashing buttons" can yield better results than time and effort put into understanding the game.
Smashbros Brawl is not like that.
Not that I've played any of these Brawl games, but my experience with button-mashers in fighting games over the years is basically that, yeah, their randomly-flailing attacks make it hard to predict what they're going to do, as they themselves don't even know what hey're going to do, but I've yet to see a fighter in which mashing cannot be shut down with patience and learning how to spot openings. In all their twirling around, they generally don't make exclusively safe moves and something punishable is going to pop up sooner or later.

Just because he doesn't like said media doesn't mean he isnt a reviewer. Many of the points he raises in his videos are not only true but cut deep into the truth of the matter, things which the fans of the game don't want to admit/dont want to become commonly accepted knowledge.

And in that aspect, I was a little disappointed to be honest. I liked the Robina stuff, but as for the rest, you could tell his heart wasn't really in it. Shame.
