First time on Ebay, quick question

I found an item that is being sold in my town, but I dont have an account and honestly dont plan on using ebay at all. I'm trying to find a way to contact the seller. Is there a way to get his email without actually having an account? I'm trying to just set up a meet so i can buy the item in person with cash.

If there isnt a way, I dont suppose anyone with an account with be so kind as to procure his email address for me?

I'll post the details if needed.

I'd love to be the one disappoint you when I don't fall down

If I remember correctly, you don't need anything special to make an account, particularly if you're not going to bother linking it with Pay Pal or anything like that.

Just make an account, message him through E-Bay's system, and tell him you want to meet up and buy it.

Just wanted to add, this is against eBay's TOS:

    http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/rfe-spam-non-ebay-sale.html

As long as your seller doesn't report you, you'll be fine though.

Yeah, eBay tends to frown on this kind of behavior. How much feedback does the seller have? The more established sellers generally won't go for it. My advice would be just to make an account and bid on it, but good luck either way.

Also, if you're in his town he might not have any problems with paying in cash. Send the seller a message before you place a bid (if you choose to do so). Could be he won't charge shipping or anything like that for local pickup.

Try this - make an account and send him a message through e-bay asking if you can pick it up and pay cash if you win.

No, you don't need anything to bid except an ebay account.

Not everyone uses paypal, after all.

You don't need it to actually bid, no; hence why people still accept checks and money orders (and get scammed)

However, most auctions will list at the bottom what types of payment they accept, and if they say paypal-only it's best to send them an email through ebay to ask before you bid if you aren't going to use paypal

Aparently contacting the seller with a question posts it under that item... I look like a moron now, is there anyway I can get rid of that?

The seller chose to put it there so it's going to stay there.
