Dammit, Ink. You were supposed to predict a switch to Flygon and use an ice move, thus allowing Slowbro to get in a free hit.
I mean, why WOULDN'T I switch to Flygon?
At least I got revenge on the damn thing with an Uberpowered Shadow Ball. Though, as a result, you can probably guess what item Smirk is holding.
Good game.
I blame my loss on the fact that my iPod ran out of juice and I couldn't battle to some rockin' tunes. Yeah.
(Oh, additional note: I bred Smokes before I knew about IVs, and his SpA IV is like a 4. I should probably rebreed him, as with a little more punch he could OHKO more things after a Nasty Plot. Buuuuuuut Houndoom needs Level 60 to get NP, and I realllllly don't want to grind that.)
Tch. Absolutely no luck on the breeding front~ it continues.
Can it only breed with Ditto's or something? The chance of passing one 31 is pretty piss poor and with 5 and 16 Atk the odds aren't really in your favor. There must be some breeding chain that would allow a parent to pass a 31 or 30 in Atk.
Actually, if you don't mind me correcting, only HP and Defense have lower odds (8.02% and 13.78% respectively) of being passed down in Emerald and D/P. Atk, SpA, SpD and Spd have an increased chance (19.55% each). In R/S and FR/LG all stats have an equal chance (16.67%).
Because Atk, SpA, SpD and Spd are easier to pass down, it's more difficult to get a random 31 in one of those four stats. Imagine you want a 31 in Attack. The chance of that happening is 3 out of 192 (1/64), whereas with Defense it's 4 out of 192 (1/48) and with HP it's 5 out of 192 (1/38,4).

My goodness I did not know all that. In any case I care more about the speed than the attack - right now I've got a male with high everything but speed and attack, and a female with a 31 speed. The problem is that I don't want to replace the male since he's so awesome (and if I remove him from daycare he'll lose the ability to pass his egg move) and just by luck I've been getting shitty females, and males that have high speed and attack but nothing else. The game is having fun at my expense, I think.
What I should have done would be to have bred a 31 into attack and speed to start with~ but oh well. I have another guy to breed from scratch after this so I'll do it then I suppose.

I finally managed to break away from the allure of my new 360 to go to a non-Halo 3 topic. So, is there an actual timeframe for GameStop's Deoxys giveaway, or is it just a daylong thing?
From what the Gamestop near where I live claimed, I'm pretty sure it will be an all day thing. They just get a little cartridge and have it broadcasting the Deoxys stuff. That having been said, it may be Saturday before I can go claim a Deoxys for my own, so it may be a little bit before I find out for sure.
I kind of wish I could go claim more than just one, but besides an attempt at a 'living Pokedex' on Pokemon Ranch, I don't have much of a reason for it.
Given that Deoxys has four forms, with four completely different sets of stats and move pools.. yeah. Just about any non-neutral nature will be useable in one of the four forms. If you happen to be going for the form classed in OU on Shoddy, the most common natures for that one are Hasty (mixed attacker), Modest (semi-defensive) and Bold (for Cosmic Power abuse). Hasty and/or Naive are also good natures for all but the defensive mode Deoxys.
Tyrogue can breed, but only with Ditto and after it evolves into a Hitmon(whatever). This is how it also has egg moves, as breeding it can get various moves from its other forms into a single Hitmon.
Well, at least it only needs to level up to level 20, Rockin. Unless you're shooting for a specific Hitmon, that's not too hard to get with just an exp share.
Excellent - then I'm one magikarp away from having only hp training to do, which can wait for when I make the trade with rx.
As a complete aside:
How I ever mentioned how pissed I am that the card game players get a league with, like, ratings and prizes and whatnot and all we get is an occasional doubles tournament? I'm plenty.
I notice no sign of Chimchar in Gabe's lineup. I assume it failed the Ranch obstacle course. That or Child Services took Chimchar away to a better home.
Frankly, unless it runs up against something faster than it, a Heracross is going to put the pain down on pretty much everything. Unless that everything happens to be Gliscor.
There's also the fact to consider that many Heracross these days wear a Choice Scarf, which would cause the bug to easily outspeed Jynx and get a OHKO in. Assuming both aren't wearing a scarf, though, it would depend also on what set each was running. Jynx has a pretty good shot at OHKO'ing the bug if the scarf isn't in consideration, and especially if Stealth Rock or a Toxic Orb carrying Heracross is in play. Not so much if the bug is a bulkier Swords Dancer.
Overall though, its unlikely to see both a Jynx and a Heracross together in a normal match. People just don't mix UUs in as much as we do around here, I've found.

Heh, sorry.
I put a Scarf on Staraptor just to handle your Scarfed Pokemon.

Good game DX.
Your bad luck was certainly helpful.

Steam ID
(But breeding this damned project truly sapped my will to live.)
Namely that whenever I had a pokemon with 30 or 31 in the stat(s) I wanted the everstone failed to give me the right nature.
However breeding nearly 600 magikarp did get me a Gyarados with straight 31s and two shinies, so I guess my luck has returned.
It helped that one of the parents had 2 31's and the other had 1, but otherwise it was still pretty damn lucky.
So much that it's probably my most successful breeding project aside from the fact that it wasn't relaxed.
Actually, Emerald and DP have lower odds of passing down IVs. So it's not bad luck.
I've been catching Woopers and Quagsires for the Ranch, hoping that one of them will be shiny.
I don't give a fuck which ability it has, but I want my Dr. Shrunk. Why the hell hasn't the game let me have my damn shiny Wooper/Quagsire?
I've also tried doing several chains and none has ended in a single fucking shiny.
Oh, by the way, I hate Swampert. Most of the time it doesn't work well for me. Same with Rhyperior.
Maybe that's why I like using Leaf Green for breeding. Despite not having any way of influencing natures.
My goodness I did not know all that. In any case I care more about the speed than the attack - right now I've got a male with high everything but speed and attack, and a female with a 31 speed. Also, adding Blue to my 360's Friends List.
No idea, all I know is from that page, I assume it's day long.
Uh. I also kind of assume that when I go to my gamestop they will have no idea about it.
They don't give them away in my country's stores
I want an elekid and an electirizer~
I kind of wish I could go claim more than just one, but besides an attempt at a 'living Pokedex' on Pokemon Ranch, I don't have much of a reason for it.
So what are some good natures for Deoxys? I assume it varies depending on which form you want to use.
NNID-InvisibleInk
I have Leaf Green, if you would like to have the magmarizer instead it'd be great.
How am I going to use a magmarizer on an elekid? That doesn't even make sense.
As to tyrogue, nope, baby form.
By the way, anything else I could get you if I don't an Electirizer? I have PBR's Electivire.
But hmmm. Yeah ok. In that case instead of an electirizer, one of those EV items for hit points.
I have two of each.
Now I have to get a third HP POWER ITEM.
Yeah, Aggril, that's true. I guess it'll let me get more money through the E4.
I'm cheap.
Edit: And I need money for Quick Balls for the Ranch.
so yes.

What did you use to train before?
That comic is awesome. I like how Gabe drew Pikachu.
Reynolds, Jynx and Pikachu have awful defense stats, and Heracross has great attack. You can do the math.
Frankly, unless it runs up against something faster than it, a Heracross is going to put the pain down on pretty much everything. Unless that everything happens to be Gliscor.
I would like to see that happen.
xbl gamertag: sublunary
With 104 HP EVs: Damage: 87.46% - 102.75%
With 204 HP EVs: Damage: 81.25% - 95.45%
In both, Jynx has a neutral sp att nature.
Overall though, its unlikely to see both a Jynx and a Heracross together in a normal match. People just don't mix UUs in as much as we do around here, I've found.
