It's funny how every alliance suddenly announces that they don't want 0.0 space after we take it from them.

After 5 trial accounts I finally purchased the game. It's odd being 10 months old and having only 1.9m skillpoints.

Anyway, I'll app to MRCHI tonight or tomorrow night. Or should I do some of this new Militia/war oriented stuff first? Is it worth the standings increase/decrease?

Make sure you can get to MerchI without going through space of empires that'd blast you if you joined the militia. Only thing I can think of.

well that's a new record... lured back to the game by the 14 days free, spend like an hour trying to remind myself how to even sort of play, figuring out how to outfit my ship, etc. decide to do a level 1 mission to see if I remember how to kill anything, and get killed by a player on my very first jump. Yep, suffice to say, every time I come back to this game, I remember why I never really got into it - that realization just comes quicker every time.

And I've been doing the firesale mambo. Godamn there's some nice deals on shit in geminate right now, I'm just waiting for us to take over the q-t station to get a couple other things out. Been up late moving things around. I'm glad the region is utterly dead, I've been flying around in partially fit, unstabbed ships with 0 dps and tanks and moving them up to empire.

In other news, I'll be flying in a newly acquired Eos in a month or so :awesome:

Careless? Well, if someone logging in after a year who happens to have resumed playing in a .4 sec zone and barely remembers how to move can be considered careless, then yeah, I was careless. And I'm not even QQing over a lost ship - however, the very thought that I would have to buy a new one, go pick it up, and fly around finding all new fittings for it, just for the privilege of being able to grind rats or missions or mining, or just to get pwned again, is brain-melting. So yes, I imagine the game is indeed not for me, as much as I wanted it to be :(

I'd say 0.1-0.4 zones are more dangerous than 0.0 really.

In 0.0 you might lose a ship to enemies, but in low sec you'll have every 2-bit pirate and thief looking for an easy kill coming after you.

Pirates don't last long in 0.0 because they have nowhere to dock. Low sec is great for them because they don't need to join a large corp to hold space, and they have access to high-sec shopping.

QFT, I think most every new player wanders into 0.4 early on in their career and gets raped by some high SP low IQ retards. Low sec really is filled with those types. 0.0 is far easier to live in (mostly cos 90% of it is fucking empty and someone coming into the system is obvious).

Once I'm in lowsec it's fine, but fuck those borderline highsec/lowsec system transitions, so many camps when I'm just looking for a relatively decent 1v1 or whatever fight. Not so much fun when it's my vexor vs 3+ command ships.

So, my buddy picked up a Dread Guristas Cruise Missile Battery blueprint. It's a copy and has a limit of 3. That means that it can't be copied and after making three batteries it disappears, right? Anyway, Neither he nor I really know what he should do. Is it worth producing and selling the three batteries? If so, how much? (There's none on the market to compare to). Or is it better to try to sell the blueprint?

I'll admit to being a pubbie for the time being. Maybe soon I'll get out to 0.0 once I've got a solid T2 setup for my Myrm.

For now, I'm sticking it out in hi-sec, grinding L3's and ganging L4's with a coworker while I'm working on training. The point of the training is 7x 425 T2's on a Mega at at least 150km.

    So two questions...

Is sniper DPS something that Merch will be likely to use come Christmas?

    aaaaand....

Would it be possible to join up, despite being hi-sec/PvE oriented, just to pick up whatever knowledge I can while I'm working towards those rails?

I do plan to start PvPing, and sniping is definitely what my goal is.

I can't speak for everyone, but I prefer buying tower mod BPCs as opposed to the mod themselves as the BPCs are much more easily transported. Unfortunately for you, cruise missile batteries aren't very desirable because they go offline if the tower is reinforced. Most people turn to Amarr or Minmatar towers when they want to turn them into combat deathstars.

Short of maybe capital ship pilots, T2 gun sniping BS are probably the most wanted fleet ship. You'd be welcome to join, but it would complicate your life - We're always at war with someone or other, and PvP between two warring pilots is completely unregulated even in high sec empire. If they see you they'll probably try to kill you.

And of course you'll probably get bored of missions long before christmas. But if you can handle level 3 missions you can probably handle most rat spawns out in E-Pr0s, so feel free to join and come out if you're getting bored.

I probably will as it's already a bit tedious. When I get back from a short, net-less vacation I'm about to take, maybe I'll just look right into it.

No idea on the going rate on that BPC. You'd have to use contracts, and if you contract it out of Jita, you'll have the best chance of someone being interested in buying it (if the price is right).

Theres a gurista cruise battery 3 run BPC on auction contract in jita for 5m atm. The dread version is presumably better, but as others have noted cruise batteries are not great so I wouldn't expect more than maybe 10-15 m for it.

I open Evemon and my character names appear, but it can't seem to connect. There's no wallet balance, portrait, corp, and of course skills. The little pizza-circle thingy in the top-right just keeps flashing.

Any ideas!? I feel like I've tried everything.
