Actually it sounds like you'd like Black Ops. Although they operate mostly solo. I'd recommend getting a few disposable ships and seeing what kind of havoc you can go cause while training up other skills to get into T2 ships like the vaga.

Hell one guy with your mindset can fuck up an entire solar system of enemies. You'll die... a lot, but after awhile you'll get the hang of it, and with the T2 ships, it'll be that much more fulfilling.

    Yeah, the queue is awesome.

What is not awesome? Forgetting to bump the clone back up after podjumping, and then getting gangbanged by a 15-man inty/hac gang that was waiting one system over. Bye bye 1,024,000 sp off Gallente BS V D:

So i reactivated my account a week or so ago and I'm looking to join up with Merch industrials. I checked the old thread but are the stations outdated as far as offices which you can apply at? I'm in Slays VII atm and I dont see an office here.

Also the name is Rephern Muare in eve.

Find agents and do more missions. It's boring, but also the best way to make isk when you are a new character. Also, start shopping around for corps to join. That will provide some entertainment and (hopefully) other people to do missions with.

    ew.

join merch industrial, send deadly sherpa a message or just chat in the corp chatroom and ask if someone can toss you newbie isk

Then play around with the toys you can buy and lose a few ships flying around delve/empire/period basis. That's the best way you can get a feel for what you'd like to do in game.

The only advice you need about EVE is to not be a little bitch. Get ready to die a lot and don't be afraid to jump in head first.
Also don't fly T2 ships unless you love throwing away ISK.

Yeah, make sure to repeatedly tell people you're a broke newbie. They'll throw tons of cash at you (tons of cash for a newbie anyways, it apparently doesn't phase them one bit) and you'll be able to fly rifters for forever and ever. Also, don't ever be afraid to ask questions. Most of the time these guys are patient as hell and will take the time to explain everything to you until you completely understand.

I'm Caldari and the only thing i seem to be able to buy/fly out of C3 is a Kestrel. The moment I undocked about 2 minutes of just checking what other ships look like in-game outside of the station, I get jumped by an enemy sitting like 8km from the station! he two shots me and I'm just like "uh... I guess this is EVE."

except - christ what a waste of money. If i literally stand no chance out in 0.0 sec space, why should I even be here? Shouldn't I be trying to earn newbie money in empire space, if not for getting a feel for reaction times and battle situations through missions?

so there are tech I ships... which ships are these? Are there tech I ships with identical tech II versions that are more powerful/role changing?

Are there ships that are exclusively tech II? What is tech III? Is it new or something?

    Because

    1. You will learn a LOT faster in 0.0 than you will anywhere else - you will only learn pvp effectively by doing pvp, not missions,

    2. You will get a LOT more money just following a battleship around salvaging for them in a rifter or Kestrel, which you can be able to do in about a day maximum, and \

    3. losing rifters or any frigate is effectively free. The corp subsidizes them since they are so cheap anyway, so if you insure at platinum, when it gets blown up it will give you enough money to buy another one and insure it.

Losing frigates is a badge of honor. Go out and get as many blown up as it takes to learn how to fly them effectively.

Tech2 ships are based off of Tech1 ship hulls, so they all look just about the same (Usually a tech2 ship has a different colored hull). Tech 3 ships are a completely different type of ship. More info here.

As for the caldari frigs, drop the kestrel for now. Pick up a merlin, then train propulsion jamming and high speed maneuvering (you only need them trained to level 1). That will give you a decent "tackler" that you can use within fleets.

actually insuring it, subtracting what i seem to pay down on the kestrel (60k) versus my payout (a little above 250k), really only gets me just under 200k isk back from a THREE MILLION DOLLAR ship purchase from c3

the newbie ships are expensive at c3, but, I'm sure there are people that are aware of that.

That was the best way to get you out to no sec. Chances are that if you tried to travel out there with the merlin you would have been ganked along the way anyways. Just get one from the corp (if they have a free ship program) or off of the market.

there does seem to be some sort of flesh reaper pvp free ship program... but learning about it requires access to the merchi forums, which though I have messaged who I am supposed to in-game, have yet to be given forum access.

The learning curve picture is accurate. It's a sheer cliff.

3 million for a rifter is someone relisting to be an ass. Don't buy it.

If you are on trial account, ask in corp chat for someone to give you a ship. If you are paying player, Open Contracts and search by My Corporation. They are cheap contracts, like 196,000 isk (free after insurance) instead of 3million.

Yes and no. You can easily get out in US prime time during the week as most of the russians are asleep. If you have a clone there and can get everything you want on 1 or 2 cloaking ships, you should be able to make it to goonspace through paragon soul without too much issue, just be careful, use the map statistics to see pilots in space and ships destroyed, and burn through.

If you've got massive stockpiles of ships and fittings, sorry, you ain't gettin all that out.

I have a small help request,

I downloaded EvEmon about 2 weeks ago, put in API key, but it seems unable to get my character data.

Now it CAN tell me server status, so some level of connection must exist.

I can only assume that my firewall is the issue, or my router (less likely?). I wondered if anyone could tell me the list of things I should check are allowed in zonealarm for evemon to work? If not, any ideas on the router possibility? It is a wrtgs54 or somesuch. Linksys.

so how's this space in apocrypha work- it's a couple hundred systems whose entrances randomly shift around, huh? Can you jump between systems in the apocrypha space? Could a player concievably go into apocrypha space and lie in wait, attacking nubs who decide to enter when the wormhole shifts? Could you totally send a fleet in, wait until the entrance shifts into an enemy system, and then funnel through?

How often do the wormholes shift?
