Man... you know, enough. Really. If you've watched Tyrannus for 5 minutes you know theres plenty of skill that goes into Soldier. You're a scout. If you're dumb enough to stand next to a soldier, then yeah... they'll kill you like that. Scouts aren't really well suited for taking down soldiers, its one of their weaknesses. If you can't get over that fact, its your problem, not a soldier's.
Agreed. Soldiers can be exploited fairly well by explosion-happy spastics who fire blindly at their boots (hello!), but they're absolutely devastating if you throw in a keen sense of timing and aim, since they can manipulate their victim's movement with splash damage. Note tyrannus's "direct rocket between enemy's legs, juggle until dead" strategem.
Scouts have to encounter Soldiers the same as Heavies, by popping around them too erratically for their opponent to take proper aim or inflict severe splash damage. Now Pyro, there's a mindless anti-Scout class. I love just lighting the little fuckers up and watching them run around in circles.
Pyros can own scouts, but scout is a very good anti-pyro class, as being able to play keep away+scattergun death=ownage. When I play scout I can usually knock down pyros quickly if I meet them anywhere but a corner or hallway. On open ground they're toast.
the only ones I really have are maintain the high ground, rack up some damage before pushing forward, learn to slice the pie, and 2 rockets->shotgun will be enough for most classes except for heavies and babysat soldiers.
if you want, think of 3 rockets as your man killings and 1 as your reserve/RJ rocket.
never rocket jump straight over a soldier. if they're worth a damn they'll knock you in midair, even though you technically have the advantage. it's not a very hard shot to make.
learn to prioritize, too, I guess. go for medics, spies, snipers, scouts - in that order - anyone who can take our your teams medic. stay with him even if he's not healing you. and learn to knock pyros into the air.

Cool, i got 1.2 SPM, but I don't have near as much playtime on the server as everyone else (only 20 hours or so... but I also play almost every class.. but mainly demo/soldier.)

Three days and still no update. At this point I'd settle for an announcement on when the update will be out.

Also remember that time does not exist at Valve. Therefore dates have no meaning. I will not be shocked or even upset if the patch does not release this week or even next month.
Just take a look at the end of "Meet the scout", it says TF2 will be available for separate purchase on 4/9 and the orange box is available now. They didn't release the video till after 4/9 but didn't bother removing the date because 4/9 doesn't mean April 9th 2008 to Valve it equates to .44 in their minds. Everyone should just learn to accept this fact and just enjoy the tasty fruit of their labor whenever it ends up being released.
What I meant was where could I look it up for the servers. I just found it on the gametracker site linked in the OP. Its skewed because it recognises nicks as opposed to steamids. I have so many fucking alts my playtime is spread over 75 names

According to MaximumPC's playtest, they may be taking additional time to include some engie boosts. I'd gladly buy oral sex for anyone involved in getting me upgradable dispensers/teles!

We noticed in last night's game that Valve is also tinkering with upgrades for the Engineering class. While it's not concrete that these additions will go into the game's next Medic-friendly update, Valve is nevertheless looking at adding upgrade options for the Engineer's teleporter and dispenser. The former, when upgraded to Level 3, would reduce teleport recharge times from ten seconds to three. And a fully upgraded dispenser would heal all around it just slightly slower than a Medic--akin to Shadowrun's Tree of Life.
Yes, engineer, the one class that is in dire need of some boosts!

I hate getting BoP'd, but I guess I was late to the party with the info anyway. I'm not suprised to find that the devs are playing around with upgradable dispensers/teles, as it's a pretty obvious idea.
Hopefully they'll put them in with the medic updates, as getting an engie nest going is the most fun and productive part of playing engineer (IMO). Adding more options for building/upgrading adds more to the construction mini-game.
I'm all for adding additional steps to get an engie nest to 100% (as long as it adds more benefit for the team)
That gives me an idea: Make the engineer be able to make railroads for the sentry to ride on. Or even put the sentry on already existing railroad like those on dustbowl!
How about after so much healing by the dispenser it can ubercharge all buildings in it's surroundings for 5 seconds
