As primarily a demoman, I've been saying since release the answer to demomen wasn't nerfs but class limits.
Anyone who complains about class limits is crazy.
(Though as a demoman who saves stickies for SGs on offense and leaves them on the cap on defense I do wish they would unnerf the old bouncing nades. I basically have 4 shots to kill someone and if I don't life is rough, son.)
I think in this situation the issue with class population caps is that it applies exclusively to demomen, while other classes like the engineer, scout, medic, and likely others can be just as abused in numbers.

Hey...if a team wants to spam bats and scatter gun fire...go for it.
Massing the others isn't as effective as massed demo spam though, and even then it's only dustbowl. Gravelpit is a lot more open, DB is a lot of small passageways that can be stickied and become impassable to anyone who isn't invincible.

I think class limits should probably be limited to a per-map basis, and that would take, you know, time and effort, so most server ops aren't willing to do it.
I've given most, not all, of my maps on my server map-specific configuration as far as round limits, flag cap limits, and map time limits. It's not really difficult, but noone seems to want to go through the trouble to restrict intelligently, most anyone just gets complaints and then restricts stupid crap.

Sorry guys about playing just for a bit today, I have to go to work, bleh.
What I did find out today was that...Flippy's got an accent.. I don't think I've ever played on his team before. :P
He's still an awesome sniper!
Me and and a group of staff from Neowin.net went through Valve on Friday. We'll be posting more about the visit hopefully today or tomorrow. I got to play the game on Robin's computer, no less ^_^
First off, thank you for finding this info, BlindPsychic. It kind of saddens me... as the hard ones have been toned down quite a bit, and I do love a challenge.
But I suppose that has to be the case, with people being able to cheat to get the achievement. I guess I would prefer that people be given a more reasonable healing number to work towards, rather than rewarding those who cheat long before the casual gamer.
There are still challenges in there, don't get me wrong. 20 kills with a heavy won't be easy... but it certainly isn't the 30 kills that it was before.
And to think... I was almost at 9 million healing, too.

Stop trying to sell us Sham-Wows!
I think you either limit all classes or none at all.
Why just demomen? Engineers are just as pesky. Soldiers are just as spammy. Heavies are a pain in the ass to deal with.
Basically, you limit one class, one of the ones I love to play, and it bothers me. Kind of ruins it for me.

How about I grant you the Mandalore acheivement when you hit ten million healing. You can put it in your sig and everything.

soldiers need be in line of sight to fire, engineers need to maintain their sentry guns and heavies are slow as shit. demomen, on the other hand, can shut down corridors and with a little coordination doesn't need to be looking at the enemy.

Yeah, that is kind of disappointing, though I was nowhere near 10million (3 million woo )
I wonder how many of these will just pop up the instant I jump into a server when the patch is released.

Also, 3 demos can have 24 stickies and about 9 nades in the field of play at a given time.
3 soldiers can have 3-6 rockets in the field of play depending on how far away they are and actually have to somewhat engage an enemy to kill him.

If I could host a server it'd be exactly like jonxp's so probably even if I could I wouldn't bother because hey it's done.
Also I haven't been reading patch notes and completely missed the multi uber change.
Strangely, it makes me want to play more. It was completely overpowered to be able to do that so easily and I got a bit bored. Now the challenge is back.
Also I'll need to talk to my team a lot more.
The only downside is it makes voice chat even more important and so if I can't voice chat like right now I don't want to play.
Also, I may use the crit uber now. I can see the possibilities now that the normal uber is not so overpowered on defence. Wipe out their medics with a surprise attack while they're building their charge.

The achievement being only 1 million HP healed, instead of 10, makes me a little happy. 'Cause I don't even have half a million healed according to my tf2_playstats.dmx file.
Some of those achievements are ridiculous, and can't really be done unless the enemy team's helping you get it.
Things like 20 assists on a heavy in a single life, or 5 kills with uber ready.
Yeah, a lot of the achievements I'm not going to try for and just let it happen. Usually it works better that way and you don't get disappointed when you're counting assists and get crocketed at 19.

I think I'm going to be heading to public 2fort instant repsawn servers to try and make getting the achievements easier. Big Pharma will certainly be relatively easy there (especially if half the other team is going to be medics).

Those achievements are far from ridiculous. They are HARD. They are a CHALLENGE. They are ACHIEVEABLE. If they were all easy, then they might as well just give everyone the weapons without worrying about the achievements. Some of those aren't going to happen the first day, yeah. Some of those may take weeks of trial and error before you can legitimately unlock them. Sounds like something I can still work towards.
And Morninglord... I'm keeping that quote in my sig as reminder to myself, and to you!
I can't believe nobody is dismayed at the idea of needling 30 scouts to death.
If it was in one life or something, yeah, that would be retarded. But it looks like it just adds up every time you needle a scout. It'll take a while, but it's no big deal.
The new versions of the achievements are fairly reasonable but there are a still a handful that are retarded. In particular there are way too many that encourage stupid Medic play that handicaps the team of the Medic trying to achieve them. When every Medic in the game has to at some point build an uber and go on a killing spree without using it, or needle 50 Scouts, or uber a punching Heavy, you're going to get people doing it in a real game on a pretty regular basis. This isn't a temporary thing either, there will always be people that haven't done it yet or bought the game recently. I just think it's a terrible idea to encourage this sort of stuff with achievements in a team game.
I don't like the fact that they toned down the 10M hitpoints healed achievement for the simple reason that I already got it thanks to some weird custom server.

It's been maps, piping, crits, spawn timers, RTV etc.
We all live to complain.
It doesn't make sense that the number of private severs for us to play on seems to be INCREASING in number over time.

This is easy.
Why are people complaining about 1 million healing. By the time you get all these other ones done, you will be easily past 1 mill.
