Expansion Pack Details
The WipEout HD Fury expansion pack will increase the content of your current game with 8 new tracks, 13 new ship models and 3 new game modes, 2 of which will be available for online play! In addition there will be new trophies to attain, a re-styled front-end and a selection of new & improved multiplayer functionality!

Game Modes:

The Eliminator game mode will allow you to release all that pent-up aggression as you use the full arsenal of Wipeout weaponry to destroy your opponents. Forget those racing lines; this is all about destruction, with the victor being the first to reach the target score!

Zone Battle is about risk and reward! Acceleration is automatic as you swoop over zone pads to fill your zone bar. Your choice is whether to use the bar to increase your speed and boost your ship ever closer to the target zone or absorb it to replenish vital lost energy. Warning, avoid the ‘zone barriers’, obstacles left on the track by your opponents as they boost towards the target zone, hitting these can literally destroy your hopes of victory!

Our Detonator mode introduces a brand new ship model to the game that will test both your piloting skills and your shooting accuracy as you accelerate through as many as 14 stages. Score points by destroying the mines that have been strewn along the track and take out the bomb on each stage to earn additional points. The more accurate you are the more points and bonuses you will score!

Just like the original WipEout HD, all the new content will be released in glorious 1080p resolution and will run at a smooth 60fps.

Ships:

I think concept ships for the current teams

Tracks:
To confirm the tracks in the pack; you will be able to play are;

Modesto Heights forward,
Modesto Heights reverse,
Tech De Ra forwards,
Tech De Ra reverse,
The Amphiseum forward,
The Amphiseum reverse,
Talon's Juction forward,
Talon's Junction reverse.

Plus the below Zone (also playable in Zone Battle and Detonator) tracks playable forwards only;

Mallavol,
Syncopia,
Corridon 12,
Pro Tozo.

Tony also forgot to mention that there will be a new single player Fury Campaign too, which includes events using the three new modes.

Paul.

bah, PA (j00) needs to get into the hypnotic mind fuck that is Wipeout! (rapier+) and if that new zone mode video is anything to go by, that very experience should be even more buzzed with Wipeout HD

    60fps in 1080p !? I'll take twelve.

Seriously though this game looks ridiculously good. Although I wish there were more than 8 tracks. Definite buy.

that was my first thought too. It wasn't supposed to be a fully fledged game but a measly PSN title, but i think they took it quite far and im thankful for it. They said they can release tracks as downloadable content so having the 8 tracks to start off with isnt so bad, provided they dont go nuts with pricing like they did for pulse!

They exist, and should be hitting retailers in the next month or two. Of course, Sony says this about every couple of months so...

The backend stuff is already in place in the interface, under account management. It's the same code system they used for the MGO beta keys.

This will probably be my first Wipeout game, I'm half ashamed to admit. It looks pretty awesome, particularly the Zone mode.

yeah thats basically it, the speed increases every 10 seconds and you just try and get through as many zones as possible.

I just think its amazing how they got the whole track to be a visualiser to the music! It looks stunning, and will be even more immersive as it will work with your own custom soundtrack too...honestly can't wait for this.

The graphics look nice, but I can't help but feel it's easier for something so unrealistic to look really good because it's all imagination. Gameplay looks a bit boring too. Maybe Mario Kart has spoiled me for racing goodies.

if wipeout pulse and pure where anything to go by (and they are since HD is basically a sexified port) then the gameplay should be utterly fantastic too!

Aoi: added your PSN to the hopeful list

This game neeeeeds to be able to impliment your own music ingame. Come on in-game XMB! You better come out soon!

Add me to the PA list for sure, I'm the biggest Wipeout whore the southern hemisphere has ever seen. I was playing Wipeout Pure from release right up to Pulse
Still nowhere near golding everything though, that game is epic in its impossibly and length!

The "Must see" video in the OP made me think of the PS3's built in visualizer, and of course I cannot help but compare it to Audiosurf in my mind. If it's $16.99 or lower I'll probably buy it immediately, otherwise it can wait in line. May think of picking up a PSP Wipeout game..

    Ouch, nine music tracks?

Where's the fluke, chemical brothers or prodigy love? If you're getting the best tracks and putting them into an awesome race then it needs the great music.

    EDIT:
Hmm, plus custom? Does this mean MP3's stored on the PS3? If so I am going to rip the music from my Wipeout 2097 cd!

That's a good question as well. I have a media server that I can access my music collection from the PS3. I would love to be able to use it on this game.

Oh, and I'm totally in on this DAY ONE.

Now all I need is a new Twisted Metal and Jet Moto.
