31.40 trying for beat zico COME THE FUCK ON SIX TENTHS OF A SECOND YOU SHIT FUCK FUCK

I've not even been bothering with that, i'm just working on gradually getting all of the campaign done. And also working toward 100,000 points for the wipeout disciple trophy. So far I've got over 38,000 points for Assegai.

Edit: For those who don't know the time to beat is 30.82. I am so close, it is seriously just a matter of hitting the barrel roll onto the platform going up.

How are you controlling your ship? Pitch on motion sensor or something? I'm finding it seriously tricky getting enough air *and* the rolls off using the analog.

I use digital. Nothing else. I'm thinking about adding pitch motion controls to make one part I need to angle my nose up a little easier, but other than that I find digital to be the easiest.

And to Grim, the only reason I was trying was to do the 99 laps anyway and it made time go by quickly.

Ah, makes sense if you're going to do your 99 laps may as well do it working on beating zico.

Also: I'd forgotten just how awesome the Chemical Brothers are, I put Exit Planet Dust on the PS3 and have been listening to it whilst racing. Awesome, awesome music.

I just got it yesterday from my brother (my gf decided to let him get it for me, she preordered LBP and some other stuff :winky:), and wow, I suck way more than on PSP. I have to get used to it before playing you guys.

I dont remember the names of tracks on the previous wipeouts, but 2 maps I miss from Pulse are Fort Gale and Vostok Reef. I hope they really do release DLC later for more tracks, that would be an instant buy.

My PSN is G226, add me if you want another person on the track that will just lose completely.

Like all of us you will learn one thing and one thing only from this game...

And that is how to hate Sebenco Climb.

Still, I just redid a speed lap for it in one of the campaigns (I'd gotten bronze before) and I just got myself a gold so all the other more hectic stuff has helped improve my game a bit.

Sebenco climb is my favorite multiplayer map because I always win with everyone sucking so bad at it. I'm pretty decent until I get to Rapier class.

I'm ashamed to say, the first thing I did after playing for 4 hours straight was to torrent every single wipeout soundtrack to date (even though I own them all) and slap them onto my PS3 so I could rock out and run for Super Zen in true style.

    FSOL Landmass.

    Nuff said.

How the hell does anyone get to Super Zen!? Thats level 75, right? I remember looking at Pulse online records a while back, and the highest record I saw on any of the tracks was 78. And that was just one guy.

The highest I've ever been on Pulse was 40-something. Haven't really given it a good Aussie go on HD yet, but it does seem a smidge easier because of the greater analogue control.

I thought Super Zen was somewhere in the low 40s? Isn't Zeus the 75 one? I know for a fact that Subsonic shows up in the low 50s, although I've yet to reach it - best so far is a 49.

I got zen at zone 35 I believe, that was on Vineta K zone.

Also, one of those ??? trophies is "Absorb". I just got it, after you've absorbed 500 items it gives you the trophy. Just got my dropzone trophy. So, only meltdown to go and its mass of Phantom tracks.

Anyone else noticed that when outputting images Wipeout saves them as name.jpg.jpg? I'd been lazy up to this point and not bothered renaming them.

    For example http://mark.christopher.casey.googlepages.com/wohd_20080928_021703.jpg.jpg

Wee, 28.99 seconds, Venom, Vineta K. I reckon I can shave a bit off, maybe get 28.80.

Here's a quick tip to get the "Tournament Ace" trophy.

You can do it with weapons turned off, it can be any tracks regardless of number. For example I just got it by having weapons off and set the 8 tracks to Vineta K. Won it easy.

Oh, and the "motion master" trophy. The one where you get the trophy for using the motion controls instead of the analog stick/d-pad. You can still use the airbrakes, I got this trophy by using pretty much the airbrakes only.

I wonder how well Wipeout HD is selling, by all the positive news it's getting and the fact that the stat servers seem dead it must be selling like hotcakes.

Oh, anyone know of a site which lists your trophies at all? (for example you enter your user name and it will list them out for a game of your choice or something like that)

Yeah tournament ace was super easy. I did it 8 times on anulpha pass, skilled, venom, with weapons on but I won by about 4 seconds each time.

Motion master was pretty horrible for me. I think the motion controls are neat as a novelty, but no way to ever seriously play.

Am I the only one who's playing Joystick, or are a lot of people using the stick?

It feels like everyone is using the D-pad.

I thought stick control was going to suck balls, but (to me at least) it was actually quite easy to master ship controls with it.

Analog stick all the way here, also.. for the motion master award.. don't even bother, keep the joypad stationary and simply use the air brakes for turning. It's much easier.

Harimau, I was just getting my 500 points for each craft to get the mercenary trophy when I kept beating my lap record with each craft.. :P

Some I already had over 500 points so I skipped those but now I'm thinking to try them too.

EDIT: Cool, first game of the day I just fired up wipeout (to dig out what craft i'd used for the above).. went into speedlap on venom, selected icaras and on my third lap got a time of 28.58.

The stick feels way more precise to me, it's difficult to be able to reach full lock on the d-pad, and still be able to manage slight turns.

I think that's better than mine, I think mine on venom is about 35 seconds. I've tended to avoid Sebenco because I hate it. I've just started playing it on Phantom because I'm on the final campaign. Got a time of around 25 seconds on phantom.

Umm, hey guys... I think we can share each others ghost records etc.

I was just looking in the saved game data and it saves the ghost ship data separately for each speed, ship etc.

Here's mine for Venom, Vineta K, Icaras. (28.58 seconds)

I simply copied it from the game saved thing onto a flash drive, to the pc and compressed it. It should be trivial to simply copy it back to a ps3.

Alright so I'm having a tough time getting Gold on a Frenzy event - the TT in Metropia. I use AG Systems and I just can't seem to get even close to Gold time (I'm a second and .8 after @ Silver). I hit almost every boost pad and the wall maybe once or twice per lap. I use Boost at the very end after the last speed pad.

It's really frustrating because it's nearly impossible to be perfect 4 laps in a row. I get a Perfect Lap once every time practically. Can anyone help me out?

By the way someone add me as a friend because I have none :(

At last! I got a medal on it! And gold! (to those who look at the edit time etc... i've been trying to get even a bronze on Sol 2 for the last few hours and failing horribly)

Through some sheer fluke of luck, or skill.. I dunno. I got a gold on my first try of the phantom tournament, 8 tracks in all.

I have now gotten medals for all campaigns and as such I get a shiny skin for all my craft now. And to prove i'm not lying:

Apparently there is a trophy you get if you partake in an 8 player race of people who have the campaign skin. (silver thing as shown above) All 8 players must have the silver skin selected.

Am I the first on PA to get this?

I decided to take another, if anyone wants any more of a different ship, track etc let me know. I decided to temporarily change the res to 1080p, it looks slightly ass'ish on my 1680x1050 (when running) monitor because it doesn't properly downscale the image from the 1920x1080 ps3 output.

Earlier on I was questing for golds, then I shrugged my shoulders and figured I may as well see if I can get all of the campaign trophies then worry about the golds later. It sort of shows on drop zone since that's the absolute minimum points you can get to for melt down.

How many more medals do you need to get all campaign trophies?
