Finally got gold on Sebenco Climb on Vertigo. After many many times of not getting above 5th place I finally got pissed off with a horrible 8th place finish and just kicked their ass so badly. The closest one was like 4 seconds behind me in my gold run.
I'm also dumb and finally learned what the hell to do with the double tap stuff... haha. I hadn't been using it until now, but on Sebenco it's absolutely critical to double tap on most every freaking turn so you can hit the pads and not the walls.
Puts me in 6th online now! Probably booted away when the leaderboards update again, well, if they update again..

Yeah, I've yet to finish better than 6th in the single race event there. It's a complete BS track that confounds my racing experience with the series.
I was playing Sebenco quite a lot yesterday on speed laps. To get myself used to the track, I managed to get myself annoyed. But I just did a campaign tournament and got myself a gold after coming first on the three of four tracks.. to my astonishment I came first on Sebenco.
It was on the head rush campaign btw. The track I didn't come first on was Sol 2, I haven't practised on that much so it was slightly to be expected. But the only track I still truly hate is Sebenco.
EDIT: Is it me or are global times stuck? They've been the same for the last few days now.

Pretty much all games. MGS4 looks horrible as well. I don't have the money for a new TV right now though. Even a small 30" 720p would be fine. I bet this game looks amazing in HD.
I got my PS3 thrown in with a 42" Sony Bravia - yes it was probably overpriced etc at the time, but given I've only ever seen the PS3 running on that I almost scratched my head wondering what you were on about with the numbers being fuzzy. Then I remembered the similar pain I had reading menu text and numbers on Wipeout 3 on the PSX on a 'normal' tv back then.
Wipeout looks like the sex at 1080p. I recommend though that you don't even think about seeing it in motion, cos there's no way you'll be able to return to what you're playing it now. Unless you wanna sell your body or something.

There's an option (under options) to change your screen size. You can scale the text smaller or larger based on the res of your TV. I have my PS3 hooked up component to a 27" Philips CRT and the text is definitely readable, in fact, I noticed that the game actually scales up the text upon boot up (while the copyright screen is showing).

There isn't a penalty for that? I haven't had that turned on once since I started playing cause I figured I'd have to get used to not using it eventually.

It's not that bad actually because they know it's a hard track so they lower the requirements...iI think!
i've sort of gone off playing for a while (need a bit of a break). I've got gold for the first 6 leagues(?) on skilled and half way through 7 but I'm just tired you know..some of the time trials I did I had to break into the top 5/10 online records to get gold! It was painfully tough.
While I'm away at work I'm rekindling my love for Pulse and its still fantastic. Although I've played for around 11 hours, with the 4 DLC, I'm not even halfway through the game
Yeah so anyone with Pilot Assist on, turn it off. I didn't even know it was on all this time. i turned it off and have gotten consistently better times. Just make sure you don't hit the walls.

Why oh why someone would want to play with Pilot Assist is unknown to me. The Wipeout series hasn't needed it before, its all about a baptism of fire when you jump a speed-class for the first time.
So I'm having a weird problem that popped up just last night. In Zone mode, everything but the track was really white. Like, washed out. It happened regardless of what Zone or track I was on. I tried switching display settings and profiles, but I couldn't get it to go away. I've re-downloaded game and it's still here. Has anyone heard anything about problems like this?
Super Edit before posting: Okay, so looking at videos, I see people playing like this like it's normal. This is like what I have right now:
. How are you guys playing it? I really can't see this white-washed one as the right way, as the darker version is more detailed. Also, the track and even the signs on the buildings are dark, and really stand out from everything else.
Also, is there a way to post videos without embedding them? I didn't really want to have people load this videos everytime they load the page, but the closest I could get was spoilering them.
Yeah, the video is from before Zone mode got edited. But the buildings I played with were dark like that, as opposed to the super-white ones in the other video. What are you guys playing with? I'm trying to figure out if something is wrong, or if suddenly everything is "right."
Every video I'm looking at has it all white, even the pre-epilepsy vs. post-epislepsy videos, which I've seen before. I don't know what's real anymore.

It's also completely disabled for Zone mode as it defeats the entire purpose of the gametype.
