Basically a friend of mine picked me up a copy of Adobe CS2. It's quite clearly a pirated copy but I can't afford to actually buy this software at the moment so I thought I'd give it a go. The software requires me to register it online but I know it's pirated.
If I register the software and it's been registered before or it comes up as a copy am I liable in any way for attempting to use it? Or will it just inform me that it's not cool and uninstall?
I don't think anyone is allowed to give you advice on this one, bud. Forum rules don't allow advice on anything illegal.
I will, however, recommend that you look into using the GIMP + a variety of free software utilities. The GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a decent free software replacement for Photoshop, and there are a lot more utilities kicking around that can deal with the other stuff that is included in CS2.
You may have better luck looking on sourceforge.net for free software replacements.

I recommend GIMPshop, which is just GIMP with an interface that has been modified to resemble Photoshop.
Same as everyone, can't really comment on pirated stuff.
I wanted to say thanks to Hachface. I've been using gIMP for awhile, but I think GIMPshop will make it a lot easier for me to get other people to use it. Thanks!
