I just got a PS3, but don't have any money to buy any games besides The Show. So I figure I may as well get rid of some old ones I'll never play again. I have 3 options that I know of.
1. EB Games: they have a shitty trade in value don't they?
2. Blockbuster: I noticed a trade in 4 get any game free sign the other day when I was there. Does anybody know if they actually take any 4 games, or does it only work with newer games or something?
3. Trading game website: Anybody have any luck with these? I have a feeling I won't have much luck with these since I'll be trading older games.
So what is the best way to get some new games with my old ones?
Goozex! Goozex is the best site ever. Seriously. Old games still move. I managed to trade out crap like Black & White, and Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain. You get way better value than at EB games. The site'll do the talking better than I can.
Thats why I stopped using Goozex. I realized that sending out my games for your 100 points costs like $5-7 dollars or more and 100 points is worth $5 if you buy them from the site. Just plain bad deals if you send games worth less than a minimum of 250 if you ask me. Plus you don't really get any new games with the service cause you are always like 50th in line and no one trades their new games to you.
Edit: Also if you do go this route, don't give the person anything except the CD because it will cost you less to ship and giving them the box/instructions doesn't get you any more points, so just throw that shit away and send the cd's.
Usually costs me like $2 to ship in Canada, around $4 for the States, not counting the cost of bubble mailers. This is, of course, assuming the game is thin and light enough to be sent as letter mail (or light packet to the States). I think just about every game in a regular CD or DVD case fits this.

Just keep referring people during promotion times, get them to trade, and you'll never have to buy trade credits 'cause of the bonus.
I joined with 1 trade credit and 100 points, referred a friend, he traded, then I got 5 more trade credits, then I made a bunch of trades in March when it was free trades month.
I know GameFly lets you trade games now. I'm going to send them my Super Paper Mario, which would net me around 17 bucks. I forget if it's GameFly credit or actual money, but it's there.

We've got a few decent local shops around here that give decent trade and don't sell used current gen games for over $45 ($40 for Wii). I stick to those unless I'm taking advantage of some rare trade in X amount of games for X extra credit at one of the big chains.
F**K! where are you buying your bubble mailers I get 4 for a buck at dollarama, and so its like 3 bucks...but meh...
Chuck goozex rules and every person I've sent to lives in Canada so its mostly domestic mail....
$1 trade ~$2 for mailing ~$3 for the bubble wrap [strike]shit[/strike] envelope
sounds about what I was paying.
My bubble mailers are 67 cents. I dunno where you're getting yours, but you should probably not go there anymore.

Regarding Goozex:
I don't recommend anything else unless you want cash for your games. I believe it's truly is the best value.
Bubble mailers should never cost more than $1 apiece. USPS 1st class postage w/Delivery Confirmation is the only option needed and has never come out over $3.00, even going from one corner of the US to its opposite. Even Canadian post should not cost over a few dollars.
Once you've received a game, you can re-use the envelope with some clear tape and a sharpie, also cheap, long-lasting investments. Goozex offers a label to print, making it easier to re-use. Alternately, the "stamp' printed by post office electronic mailing kiosks doubles as an ultra-convenient shipping label. Just be sure to thoroughly black out all the old addressing and pen your own return address.
If you're sending a 100 point game, there's probably no need for confirmation service. Keep your receipt, and take a digital photo of the game/package for free security on low-point games. Re-using an envelope as well should keep your costs well below $5
canada it is $1.85 give or take a couple cents for a regular modern console case. However, we have no delivery confirmation (well we do, but you are looking at at least $9.. since they don't have it with regular letter mail... so not worth it)

It should be noted that you don't need or use trade credits when sending a game to someone, only when receiving.
Anyway, here. PA Goozex Thread. I'm pretty sure around 50 PA users have signed up by now and ar actively trading. Also pretty sure nearly all of them would tell you it's the best trade-in value if you want more games for the games you have.
If you want cash, then try to sell locally and through free ads (newspaper, craigslist, etc.) before you commit to giving a nice fat cut to an online service.
EBStop is quite nearly the worst value, only higher than throwing your games away or setting them on fire. To tell the truth, after my first experience trading with them, I've thrown a few games away rather than letting them rip me and then someone else off. After a bit, I regained my senses and held onto stuff until I found a good solution (which was Goozex). Only took 5 years of patience.

Sell privately on eBay/Craigslist, or through a game trading site.
Can trade TF2 items or whatever else you're interested in. PM me.
