Ugh, the floor 135 boss. Apparently, the game wants me to heal every bit of HP lost every turn. Because this asshole's attacks bring me down to around 20 each time.

I remember writing up a bunch of hints on bosses in an older thread some time ago, I don't remember what these bosses were anymore.

I need to find more time to play this game. It's addictive and going to start costing me sleep. Which I don't mind one bit.

Elendil, have you tried using the atk down debuff on a boss like that? Alternatively, go find a persona that can heal your whole party and use them. I forget which ones had it, but there's an ability that doubles the amount of healing your spells do, so you can get the job done well or potentially with less SP use during a fight like that.

EDIT: Is this still correct for the boss on that floor Elendil?

Probably. I remember some people talking about doing it without Mediarama, but I don't see how it can be done, especially on hard.

Yeah, that's the dude. I've got to see who has the debuffs. I had a Saki Mitama with Mediarama but it did fuck-all, simply because it's ridiculously strong. It doesn't help that the only character I've had do decent damage to him besides the main is Akihiko.

Not sure what level you'll be elendil, but the following two personas get Divine grace, which doubles the power of healing spells. I'm not sure if any of the new personas get it or not.
Not sure if it's a spoiler though.

    Titania - 54
    Saki Mitama - 45

Well, it is in their "rumor" section, so keep that in mind.

But, from the recent Atlus newsletter:
We hope you've enjoyed our first releases of 2008, and that the titles we've announced for the rest of the year are of interest to you!

That said, if there's still a game you're hoping we announce, fear not - we at Atlus have very big sleeves, and we tend to hide a great many things in them.
    So. There's hope.

So I just decided to start Persona 3 (not FES) yesterday. Is it pointless for me to play this version of it? I bought it a few months ago before I knew FES would be coming out in the US. Money isn't really a huge issue, but I do feel kind of stupid spending $50 on something that I'll never play, though the art book and soundtrack are nice to have.

I know it was mentioned before, but how does the save file importing work? Do I need to have a completed game, or can I import my measly 2 hours into the FES edition?

Edit: Sorry for the stupid question answered on the first page... I haven't really done shit yet in the game, so exactly how much is lost by importing an incomplete save file? Will it put me back on the same day?

No, you start from the beginning, but with any Academics/Charm/Courage gains and max-social-link Persona keys carried over. I did this with my P3 file from just before first midterms. Even a little bit is worth it because those are points you don't have to gain a second time.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be playing this game for sure. I just had a question about which version of the game I should play, the original, or the original included in FES.

I think I'm just going to go forward with the original. It sounds like there's more than enough material to tide me over for now and to warrant a second playthrough once I feel like picking up FES.

It also included a free monkey.

I also had a feeling P4 would be along during that time frame, but hearing that this early is awesome.

Didn't the EGM rumors section also predict FES?

So I heard rumors about a particular P3 cameo in a late episode of Trinity Soul... and thanks to the Atlus MB, I guess this confirms it.

Unsurprising if you recognized the VA cameo in the first episode.

Man, they kind of need to get P4 out in NA before the end of the year. We don't know how much more life the PS2 has. Yeah, the console still has shelf space right now, but things change, especially with the end-of-the-year sales rush.

So grabbing a vanilla Shiva from my compendium and fusing it with a Nihil Spear results in a crazy, fuckall spear. Well, a 450 attack power +10 to all stats spear to be exact. A two hit attack is enough to kill lots of enemies in September and my All Out Attacks hit a lot harder too. Just have to make sure I don't attack into something that reflects piercing/physical damage . . .

So can you still summon things from the compendium that you transferred over even if your level is too low as long as you have the money? Basically what I'm curious about is
Whether or not Lucifer and Satan still give me Armageddon so I can kill the Reaper and get to Monad a lot faster.

It's Helel now, but yes, they give Armageddon still.

But Helel doesn't learn Victory Cry so it's pretty much only good for Reaper killing

I see. Well that's good I guess. But sir, you seem to have underestimated my abilities at fusion. You are talking to a fusing machine here. In my normal P3 file, both Satan and Lucifer had Victory Cry. I could put Victory Cry on every persona if I wanted to. It is a move that deserves hours of fusing to transfer.

Well, yeah, if you're going to cheat about it. As far as I'm concerned if it's not awesome enough to learn Victory Cry on its own, it doesn't deserve it.

    ALSO!

Is it even possible to make that? I remember I had a hell of a time just getting Panta Rhei to transfer over to anything not the equivalent of Odin and Thor. If it's possible though I could definitely try it. It would really help on the uber-boss.

Edit: Whoops, I meant Thunder Reign. Panta Rhei is wind right? Yeah, I could never get that off of the original demon that had it.

Beating Nocturne on normal is the same thing, it's just you didn't get as many cheap deaths and didn't spend more hours grinding for cash. I really don't like hard mode in that game. Even with the burial chamber extra turn I was still having trouble with some fights.

I'm trying to fuse a Succubus with all elements (I've mostly settled since early in the game). I'm so close; I've had any pair show up, and twice I've gotten a trifecta--unfortunately both times it included Agilao which is the one I don't need.

I'm going nuts, but oh god, the result, pumped up by a maxed out Devil S-Link will be awesome.

I had trouble with that earlier this evening. It helps to make sure you have most, if not all attack types available. If you can, equip a bow on Main so you have all 3 weapon types, otherwise, use a persona with Bash or Sonic Punch. I won by continually knocking the enemies down and not all-out attacking, that way the enemies wasted their turns getting up.

That's the one where you have to rescue Fukka, right? For that you have to keep examining it to find out its weakness, then immediately hit it with that. It helps to equip each member of your party with a different type of weapon so you can hit 3 different kinds of strike.

    A couple of questions.

When do I get the Compendium? I'm at 5/3 and haven't seen it yet, nor remember when it becomes available.

Also, while following the Max Social Link FAQ, I noticed he doesn't make room for Elizabeth's dates. Is there a nice bonus for finishing up her requests? I'm tempted to say fuck it, and do the Max Social Link another play through, as Hard mode is already giving me enough of a headache.
