Btw, for my SK, I am totally going 2h at least for leveling up. It seems EQ2 plays like the less time it takes to kill something, the less damage you will take. Period.

All in all I hope you take the chance to give the game a proper try Toxic Pickle, considering I referred you I'd hope to help you out a bit, but sadly I have no idea what times you tend to try and play it.
Prior to joining Relic things felt a bit... slow, dull. Afterwards it has gotten fun.
The fact that Klatu keeps running me through -everything- doesn't hurt.
I've still got some time to mess around a bit, maybe I'll feel up to it again.
My playtime have been a bit sporadic, and it doesn't help that I can't talk on any channels and the like. I understand why Sony did this, to keep away gold spammers and such, but after experiencing it as a newbie, I now also understand why Blizzard didn't do it... makes the game very newb-unfriendly.
You are able to speak with someone if grouped with them, or if they've added you to their friends list though which helps.
I will be honest my own reasons for trying to make sure you give it a fair shot are mildly selfish considering the RAF program, but I also think the game can be extremely fun if you've got people to talk/quest/dungeon with.
Sadly I couldn't flat out craft you some nice stuff to help out, but perhaps I could show you around the lower dungeon(s). About what level is your SK right now?
I kinda, uh, ran out of things to put AAs into, so I'm working my way through the kingdom of sky zones now. Is it just me, or do mobs here actually present some semblance of a challenge? I'm actually taking noticeable damage through 60% avoidance...I had forgotten what actual danger felt like.
Think I might try running through some of the KoS dungeons this weekend if anyone else is up for them; usually have a few open spots for others, i'll check the PA channel when I figure out the plan of attack.

Rofl, how many AAs do you have at the moment flammie? My Pally is lvl 37 with 81 AA, I wouldn't mind around 152 before I hit 70, but not sure if that'll happen lol.
Kingdom of Sky content is great, and the islands flow together really well. It's very easy to move around that zone and complete all the quests without feeling like there was too much backtracking. If you can line up your Barren Sky quests it works even better there.
Yeah, there was a...almost two week-long stint where I've just been helping people run lower level dungeons, and so I'm sitting at L59/123 AAs now. Still need to chronolock down to do all of lavastorm, but I figure I'll wait until 70 to do that

Very nice.
I'm working my way through Zek quests at the moment, then I'll move over to EL before doing Steamfont and unlocking my xp. I'll probably stop again around 44 - 46 to do start of EF and LS then relock again around 52 and finish it all before moving on to TT. With all that questing I hope I'm around the same AA level you're at now, because it will really really help with my tanking survivability.
May have to get an AA potion for when I do DFC :P
edit: In hindsight I should have taken the chance to get some station cash on the double weekend. Oh well.
Yeah I got like... 43? AA's and I'm only Level 30, I'm a nutter.
I turned of quest xp and went full aaxp at lvl 20 on my warden and had around sixty before I went back to leveling. I wanted the entire melee warden spells and most of the strength druid line. I had all my attacks long before I would get them normally. It was awesome.

Sorry about not helping you with that Klatu. I still got half of what I got as well, 2500. Not sure what I wanna spend it on really...
I rolled one myself because it seemed like a cool idea to be a warrior with hints of magic, a bit like a Deathknight in WoW, but I didn't know at the time they were super-popular or anything.

SKs have always been popular, even when they weren't as uber as they are now. Everyone loves a death-knight style character, and their animations are cool. Armor, spells, big ass weapons. Its a great mix.

I may be wrong since I betrayed at level 20 to Shadowknight, but Paladins don't get the number of AoEs that Shadowknights do. They also rely more on actual heals than drains, which I guess is more reliable since they can't be resisted but you lose damage while casting them.
I think I might betray back to Paladin soon though.

So guys, I have my Iksar Shadowknight with all his AA points down the Avenger line. 1 point in the first crusader ability, 4 into Swift attack and 10 into Avenger's Relentlessness.
Also, the line of quests abruptly ends in Timorous Deep. Now what? Head to Kunark?
So guys, I made it to Butcherblock and these mobs are a lot tougher than those on Timorous Deep. Even the blue conning mobs take a lot more hits and I am having a hard time when they group up with my SK. Is there a way I can grind some AA points or something so I can level the playing field some?

If you want to grind out AA you could turn off adventure XP and do quests in the other zones you didn't do to gain extra AA points. If you just did Timorous Deep you can do Darklight Woods for easy quests in a central location.
Btw guys, whats the whole Diety thing like in EQ2. I see a couple prophets standing around shrines of various gods, a couple of them asking me to join them. What can I expect from em and can I uh, respec my faith, if need be. :P
If memory serves you pick a god (check out Wikia to see which gods offer what and which are good for what classes), do a quest to join them and get a home altar, then you can somehow earn points to exchange for miracles, which are special abilities with limited charges.
I think you have to be at least level 20 to get the quest, maybe 25 (some let you do it at 20, some 25 check the Wiki). I usually wait until I'm 50 to do the deity quests just so I can get the pet quickly.
And no Gorowyn is Evil. It's just a "neutral" city in that guards won't attack and you can use all of the services except buying a house if you don't have citizenship.
Welp, level 25 and talked to the deity lady and she still just says the same stupid thing, "Failed right here." Whatever that means, I don't know but all I know is that my Iksar Shadowknight can't follow this god.

That's because the only reasonable choice for an iksar is Innoruuk.
Does anyone actually use the diety pet for anything?
I see there's an AA associated with it.. worth getting the pet and buying, or is it just pointless fluff?
The pet gives a stat boost (like Ro's gives Int, Tribunal Wis), so it's just another buff really.
The AA aren't worth it since the increase is so small.
Edit: You know what I just discovered last night?
The Refer-A-Friend mounts are heirloom and non-attunable. So you can share one with all of your characters. Which is nice since they give a 10% combat experience bonus.
The SF CE mounts are also heirloom, but who knows why since you get one each time you make a new character.

FACT.
Yeah but Ima shadowknight and want a badass pet. :<
The transition from Timorous Deep to Butcherblock is made somewhat easier by making / commissioning a L22 mastercrafted weapon of your choice; if you've just been using drops / quest rewards to this point, you'll probably see a twofold (or more) increase in autoattack damage, which can make all the difference.
Didn't actually get around to running KoS dungeons this weekend due to spending all my time doing the cloud mount timeline quests; have 6/7 of the set armor pieces now. Sneaking through Palace of the Awakened to pick up page drops was a bitch, but it looks like it'd be fun with a full group.

I hate that shit. I rolled an SK 2 years ago and everyone laughed at me for playing such a terrible class.
Now when I log him on, people laugh at me for being yet another SK.
I just can't win. So I go play my ranger or zerk instead.

Is your character's name Mitt Romney?
Also, the line of quests abruptly ends in Timorous Deep. Now what? Head to Kunark?
Yeah I just saw it. But where do I actually travel there? I found the dock bell to whatever plains in Kunark. But how do I travel to Butcherblock?
Siiigh, my free trial is going to run up soon. I don't want it too.

How would be a good question. :V
And as for the reward for that quest, choose the one that's the most pricey on the Broker.
