Just sent off my remaining ships with some wood.

The only problem with that is I don't think he's got much in the way of warehouse space at the moment, so you might end up wasting it. :P

I could use some sulfur, since I don't have any ships aside from 2 ram ships... I'll need a naval fleet in order to even land, correct?

And by the way, he attacked her with 63 slingers. I think I'll be okay...

EDIT: Regarding the naval fleet, I mean that in order to land my soldiers, I'll need to have successfully blockaded his harbor. How many ships does that require? Is it a similar battle mechanic for blockading?

I'd throw a blockade for you, but I am 21 hours out from there. If you need it and can wait that long let me know....

If there are ships sitting at the town you want to attack, they'll turn away any land troops you send unless you blockade the town with ships of your own to fight with and destroy his. If someone has no navy, then you don't actually need one of your own to attack and succesfully pillage. However, it's still a good idea to blockade, because otherwise they can build a single ship to turn away your troops in the time it takes them to arrive (or ship all their resources to a different colony, but they can potentially do that when they get the notice that the blockade is coming anyway).

I see. I'll see what his harbor looks like once my spy is in. Thanks for the offer Tamorlane, I might take you up on that.

How many swordsmen will I need to take down 60 or so slingers?

Cyrixd, I'm not active in the far southeast where you are, but I totally give you my blessing to begin an unholy war against The Dark Empire.

Urahonky, sorry... but you are actually plotted on the maps. With green circles on each of your islands. If you were to post all your places in the format of:

    account @ xx:yy / city name / resource

then I will add them in. I pretty much have started ignoring information that is posted any other way.

Depends on the place's wall. Make sure to dump as many spies as possible into the town before you attack, up to te level of its town hall. They automatically "open the gates" to give you a substantial attack bonus.

Also, soon as I have an action point free, I'll be sending you 1200 sulfur or so. It's about a 15 hour trip, though.

I thought that possible attack bonus was based on the town hall level rather than the wall's. Isn't that why people talk about making sure to upgrade the wall up to the town hall's level?

I should chime in again: free sulfur available to anyone within 10h of 32:24, so pretty much anyone in quadrant 2 (0:0 to 50:50).

^The attack bonus is up to 10% * level of the wall.

The defense bonus is also 10% * level of the wall, but it is decreased if the town hall is higher than the wall (b.c the town extends past the wall). So the attacker could get the full bonus from the wall while the defender gets less.

Thank you Darian, and Bulwark for the sulfur.

Question about spies; is the risk of being discovered for each mission higher when the person is online? I have one in his colony right now, but everything is either 50% or 95% chance of being discovered. Is that just because he has a level 5 town (heh) or will it go down when he logs off?

And how do I see how many ships he has?

Getting the resources for a third colony is taking forever, and there are so many distractions along the way.

Nope, Phalanxes are both more expensive than, and less effective than swordsmen on offense

    they're purely for defense.

I leveled mine to 3, but that was only because the wait times for transporting resources was getting really tiresome. It would take 40 minutes to transport but hours to load, very inconvient when you have to ship all five resources around.

As of the 0.1.8 patch, that's what people were saying and I haven't read anything to contradict it since. Even if in the same alliance you would not be able to land troops even past a friendly blockade. Mith, Hoz and I managed to get around it by launching attacks over land rather that sea.

Pro-tip; don't send out your troops at the same time as your ships. Navy fleets move slower than troop transports.

Level 12 deadbeat refuses all requests to donate to mutual resources (having contributed 9w to the mill and 21w to the quarry). I must, of course, intervene more directly....

Level 12 capital, level 2 wall, level 1 barracks. Level 3 warehouse and a level 8 port.

    And I only have 12 free ships....D:
