Man, Keith I told you to buy Dr. 13 back when Traci 13 first appeared in Blue Beetle. And here's the best part of the book.
I really hope Azzarello and Chiang actually get to do Team 13: The Quest for Fear someday. I recall both saying they'd like to, during some con a year or two back.
It seemed like DC would be open to it, since they took it and put it in a trade even though it was just a backup. But it's years later and we have nothing. It especially sucks since
we killed them on the last page.

haha the ending is so great
yeah I hope they do something with it
I know Cliff Chiang is doing something at Vertigo right now...
I was going to say maybe there were copycats running around too, but then I realised that no-one would do it for fear of Mr J finding them and extracting commission.
What the hell? I swear I've seen guys with British accents in funny outfits called the Gecks before, but I have never seen this super-awesome comic. I should buy that comic.

And yes, Team 13 was seen in Booster Gold, where Johns used them to kind of gently poke fun at the claims Azzarello made about him in the original Doctor 13: A&M. Anthro later showed up as a member of Hawkman and Green Arrow's team as well.
The one that says "gecks" is Grant Morrison, the others being Greg Rucka, Geoff Johns, and Mark Waid. The whole story revolves around the "architects" (of the DCU) deciding to discard the members of Team 13, as they've become too antiquated and silly to fit into the modern DCU.
Ironically, following this mini a few characters have made comebacks; Traci 13 regularly appears in Blue Beetle, Anthro's being featured in Infinite Crisis, and the Haunted Tank has a new Vertigo series coming out.
Hahaha holy shit I never realized it but you're right they're wearing Cory Doctorow costumes.
You guys do realize they're Genius Jones costumes, right? I mean, yeah, they look just like Cory Doctorow (although they're not on a hot air balloon), but I'm pretty sure that's not intentional.

i always kind of thought it was dumb that grant morrison was one of the villains that wanted to discard these characters. i mean, he's like the poster boy for bringing back old unused characters and making them awesome again.

I think it was more about those four being sort of representative of DC as a company at the time, since they were working on the flagship series 52 while Doctor 13 was going on. Which is kind of funny in and of itself, since 52 spotlighted a bunch of rarely used B-list characters.

In keeping with the panel idea but continuing with the Dr. 13 lovefest, Geoff Johns responds to the charges in Issue #2 of Booster Gold:
And not for the last time.
see, that's exactly what i mean. i enjoyed dr 13, but when i got to the end, i was like "really? those guys are the ones who don't want you around? not buyin' it, sorry."

I absolutely demand to know more about this, who they are, what they are, and WTF is going on.
