Great games last night. Lots and lots of laughing at Pi's advice of positive thinking which actually gave out positive results. Also getting used to using the kritzkreig and staying alive.
Glad I stopped playing before this whole tandem medic situation came up. Don't think I'll be using it as my ubersaw is just getting me killed since I want my uber quicker. Only actually worked well once where I was running around B, hit Edcrab when he was a heavy twice and then ran away like all hell.
Blutsauger is magnificent but I hate fighting medics with it so much. They just maul my poor pyro. I have to retreat from bloody medics!

They might just lower the ubercharge amount the saw gives you to 15-20%.
Also the "lol just scatter your team" is absolutely stupid. It stays up for at least 30 seconds, usually more depending on how many slow classes are around. I can't think of anything a team might do with 30 seconds where the enemy is scattered. Oh right, I remembered, it's capture a control point and tear the scattered team to shreds. Normally the team could scatter for 10 seconds then regroup, but a continuous disruption like this is just too much. Especially because they can hold the uber they just gained off of a Heavy/Soldier until the team tries to regroup. That excuse is right up there with "just kill yourself, that way the medics won't get any kills."
If you use this, you aren't being "an awesome player that kills all the scrubs," you're being a griefer, plain and simple.

The uber saw is broken even if you totally disable the ability of the medic to get charge while ubered. There doesn't seem to be a drawback. At all. The blutsager can't crit, the critzcrieg doesn't make you invulnerable, the ubersaw...what?

Uber only lasts 10 seconds last time I checked, not 30. So, the scatter idea is not bad at all.
Altenatively, have a sniper take aim at one of the medics, and fire as soon as there's a break.
Its not impossible to take down. Its just ridiculous.

Yea I tried to get into Job's last night for about 25 minutes, nonstop clicking join without stopping and yet 4 people joined before I could.
I'm all fucking set trying to get into the servers for more than 30 minutes, anymore and it's just retarded.
That medic thing is counterable, but it seems like you have to put far more effort into countering it than the effort it takes to pull it off. So they'll probably change it.
I still need two achievements even though I've hit milestone 3. Probably had to do with "omg exploit cheating it like a fgt". No matter. Me still gots me saw, which is 1/3 of all I wanted, anyways.

Try heading into another PA server while waiting in the queue perhaps? Even if it's an empty server, sometimes one person joining starts a chain reaction and causes other people to join.

I can't stop playing, so you'll still see at least me running around by myself on the server sniping signs and lights and the such for fun. Really though I can see myself playing TF2 for a looong time.
I think it'll end soon, but I'm definitely with you on that. I can't count the number of times I've died from a hail of needles blocking out the sun in the last few days.

The knockback was upped a fair amount this patch. That's probably why.

Got so lucky, last kill came like 5 seconds before we lost. And that teleporter down there was a really great spy bait (and a making-people-angry-thing, I put the exit at the start of our base. :P).
Probably going to buy this game if it gets another discount for some time.
They could always just give the weapons out so the madness would end in a day. Crazy, I know.

The PA servers were never full this early before the update hit
Not only did they disable the command, they reset the achievements for those that used it. And for some that didn't. And missed some that did. And reset some more for those that didn't after the fact just to keep people intimidated.
Could we still play a normal game every once in a while? It's not as if the achievements are impossible to get in a normal game. Also, this is gonna suck if it's gonna be like this every time a new set achievements come out...
Nope. This is the game Valve wants, this is the game Valve gets.
You tie unlockables to achievements, this is what happens. Guaranteed. Every time. Valve chose not only to do so in the first place, but they're obviously "serious business" about enforcing it, based on how they handled the cheat (like resetting the achievements of many that got them legitimately...just in case). So, given the attitude of the average gamer regarding unlockable content (MUST HVAE!!!1!) and given the absurdity of some of the achievements required to get it, and given that you must get all of them to get your goodies, this is what will happen with each class unless they go a different route next time.
But I don't think they will. Because they had to be able to predict this. It's not like Valve is completely out of touch with the gaming populace, or anything. I guess they just figure a week or two of absolute wankery is perfectly reasonable in order to enforce an "experience" system in an FPS. Which is obviously what they want to do. World of Team Fortress 2, here we come.

Of course I did. At least until I got the Blutsauger...because it's the one weapon that is clearly "better" (regardless of what anybody says). I've also played other classes in the last few days. Plus, it was not unusual for me to play medic before the patch (I had about 15 hours logged as medic before, compared to about 20 for my second-most-played class...30 for my most-played). I may not be a "career medic" like some, but I was one of the guys who was almost always willing to go medic if the team needed another, didn't have one, or sometimes because I just liked to play medic.
Had Valve not reset my achievements (including the ones I got legitimately...I unlocked the milestones individually, so it was pretty obvious) I'd have probably avoided medic until the wackiness abated. But nope, they clearly wanted me to grind it out, so I did (at least for the first 12). I don't see any part of my post that excluded me from the group "most gamers." You throw unlockable new shinies in the game, I'll want them just like everybody else. It's going to take some pretty strong willpower not to keep plowing through to try and get the Kritz.

Yeah, I got screwed over with the acheivement rollback, was 3 acheivements from the Ubersaw on the update release, and got rolledback, and I got all of my acheivements legit, I didn't even know there was a code to unlock the acheivements. Now I see lame people using the acheivement box map thing. Seriously, earn them correctly.

Man, that map is hard has hell to turn around when you're pushed back to your 2nd point and all 24 slots are filled. Still, we did it somehow. I think that every time before yesterday that I'd played it, there were 16-20 people, and it was a little less crowded.
I just got the Kritzkrieg, and I'm really not interested in grinding out the rest of the achievements for the Ubersaw, so I'm done being a stupid Medic for a while.
