He's looking a lot like Tom Cruise there.

    A bit too much. D:

Wow. This looks nice. Really nice. If they can make the combat more interesting, and I believe on 1up Yours a couple of weeks ago they said it was going to be more one on one fighting game style, then I'm beyond sold. I dug the first (yeah, not the first. I know. Jesus, get over yourself, you fucking snobs.) and the third and pray this won't be a terrible, terrible, horrible misstep like the second one.

ooh, a focus on one-on-one would be great. I was just coming in here to say how I missed the crazy parry-battles of the original. Oh god, Jaffar was so hard D:

It does seem like they are trying to get back to something closer to the originals. What with the combat and environment.

That would be excellent. My mum and I used to play it on the SNES when I was young, probably one of the earliest games I really got into. Making it across the top of level 3 and through the gate was such an achievement at the time, haha. I thought Sands of Time was enjoyable and all, but the platforming was too easy and the battles were not my cup of tea.

I played PoP 2 on my computer all the time. It was definitely one of my favorite games, and I beat it when I was seven which blows my mind these days.

Also, two threads enter, one will leave. Which one will it be?

So, did anyone hear the news that Jake Gyllenhaal has been officially cast as the Prince?

    http://www.imdb.com/news/wenn/2008-05-22#celeb7

Apparently, the Prince also has a name: "Daston."

Not sure what I think of these new developments. I like Gyllenhaal, but I'm forced to ask, "Is he right for this?"

Being directed by Mike Newell though, who I feel gave us the most visually outstanding HP film.

Well there are far prettier or more popular people they could've cast, and he can act, so I'm happy with it.

I can't really think of a person that's young and able to play as the Prince. I'd say Simon Pegg, but I'm a little biased there. :P

But Gyllenhaal is a good choice overall. Could have been much worse.

:whistle:Now, this is a story all about how
My kingdom got turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there
I'll tell you a story about a Prince and an evil Vizier

In the Middle East, I was born and raised
In the courtyards was where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool
And all doin' some wall-runs on the outside of the school:whistle:

Alternately, he could talk about how he just wants to parkour all day instead of fighting, while singing "Parents Just Don't Understand" to the Sultan.

So a trailer for the game is out. Unfortunately, it shows absolutely zip gameplay -- just your typical prerendered CG wankery with overbearing narrating voiceover. Prince of Persia
