Oh man, where do you find a Ace the Batdog toy? Is it a plush or an action figure?

Man, I got that at friggin' Wal-Mart.

    And it's an action figure.

I'm getting all the stuff that's in that picture written down so you guys can maybe tell what stuff is a little better.

jordyn's DCAU DVD collection just barely beats mine :( I thought you were low on cash and were all sad you couldn't afford all the DVDs Jordyn? thats Awesome you managed to nab them.

Picked up Superman Vol 3 today as well as Justice League Vol 1. I ran out of DVD watching time because I started a full time job and never got around to picking up Vol 1 and now Vol 2 is out. DAMN IT ALL. Luckily they put Vol 1 back on sale today so i'll hopefully watch superman quickly, then vol 1, then go buy vol 2.

(i must do things in order, there will be no JL before I finish Supes).

The only other DVD i'm missing is Batman Beyond Vol 1, for some damn reason I can't find it anywhere in Vancouver.

The one next to the Bruce Timm: Modern Masters book? That's another book, about the Batman cartoon.

Assuming that's what you were asking about.

my local comic shop has a copy of it but it's kinda pricey and pretty out of date these days. I alwasy toy with buying it though beause it's such a slick book.

So I was wondering, after Timm had finished on JLU and such, what could he possibly do next? Tiny Toons redux? Maybe go and draw a few one-shot Batman stories? Or maybe he could be the fucking executive producer on a film adaptation of Darwyn Cooke's New Frontier.

My DCAU DVD collection consists of:

    Batman: TAS vol. 1 - 4
    Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman
    Batman Beyond vol. 1
Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker
    Superman: TAS vol 1 -3
    Justice League vol. 1 -2

I had the Paradise Lost DVD and the one about Martian Manhunter, but I got rid of them once I picked up JL: Volume 1.

You know, I was thinking yesterday how it would be cool if Bruce Timm could make a "L.A.W" series based in the JLU universe, essentially making it more about covert and espionage operations against the more "normal" supervillains in wake of a good chunk of the major ones dying in space.

But given what's happening, this idea is that much farther from reality.

But would they make new ones?

The concept of it just blows me away, far more than the actual show. I just sit there watching Krypto and Ace the Fuckin' Bathound with his Fucking Utility collar and Joker's Hyenas - having perfectly exceptable kids show adventures. Fun, silly and bad-ass.

    It's just incredible.

    EDIT to add:

I don't understand how a guy who runs a Cartoon channel can see a picture like that and not realise the magnitude of awesome that is there. He's hiding his identity you fucks!

Evolution got better towards the end, when it was less focused on them being in high school.

That fight against the giant spider was great.

Almost every time I caught an episode it was the one where they were on the school trip in the snow. Urgh.

But I'm being unfair to it because of 90's xmen.

In some ways I thought Evolution was better than the 90s show. Some of the old storylines kinda sucked for a cartoon (and god, I hated Morph's voice so much).

My dislike for the 90's cartoon knows no bounds. It was horribly written, animated and acted.

I liked Evolution for the designs and style of the animation. The story and plots left a bit to be desired- but I found it an improvement.

Marvel has some great properties that could be made into cartoons. Runaways (and maybe Young Avengers) would make an awesome cartoon. Especially with the season divide. Gravity has potential to be a good property (although we haven't seen enough of him to be certain). A Sentry cartoon would be great, just because no-one would know what the hell was going on.

As it got less focused around school it got pretty badass.

Especially when Cyclops knew Mystique was disguised as Prof.X and just fucking threw him down and picked him up.
And the episode where he lost his glasses and ruined peoples shit without his glasses.

And the MTV spidey cartoon was awesome, but not as awesome as the 90s one.

Young Avengers wouldn't work unless it was preceded by an Avengers cartoon, because it relies so much on Avengers history.

Runaways is more self-contained, and would probably be a great television property.
