Topic on small quick things you can do that can improve your life even in the slightest.
I have put things other then music on my iPod. Like Audio books, Comedians or even Tapes to teach you another language.
I carry a book everywhere I go, and read when ever I get the chance instead of standing around waiting for a bus or at the bank doing nothing. You'll be surprised how often you get a chance to read.
I keep in contact with people I like, sounds simple but many people don’t and lose friendships due to non-communication.
Get a Passport just incase, you don't want to miss out on a holiday with friends just because you cannot get a passport soon enough.
Post things you have done that have improved your life, or attempted and had limited success or failed.
Deciding that the people around me are not actually people but particularly stupid apes, which allows me to forgive them for being what they are, and keeps me from trying to breed with them because I do not bungle in the jungle.
Reading the news every day. Even if you only read the headlines it really helps to get you acquainted to not just knowledge of the stuff but recognizing the arguments on both sides of many different issues.

^anybody with even some social anxiety should really try going to the gym and working out with the masses... it's really an amazing revelation. in my opinion, you're at your worst/sweatiest when you're workin out - so if you can work out in public, you're doin' good.

I've never ever stepped foot in a gym to work out. From all the time it's taken me to lose weight, I've only done it at home. I probably won't ever go into a gym, for the reason you specified above.
First, I moved out and claimed my own independence and right to decide what I wanted to do for myself.
Secondly, I learnt from a woman that I had known all my life that faith is worthless - that there is no such real reason to believe in fate, destiny or anything else.
Thirdly, I know not to give my word to someone, no matter how much I care about them, if I cannot keep it.
This is not a "good advice" thread dammit.
This is a "create the illusion of self-improvement" thread.
I eat a lot better than I used to (though I was never particularly bad) which makes me feel quite good all the time. Fewer headaches, I haven't been sick for like a year, just generally feel good.
I finally remembered what size pants I wear so I don't have to dig around in the very pants I am wearing like an idiot every time I buy new pants.
Decided to start lifting weights as well as continuing my cardio plus monday through thursday I eat a much healthier diet. It has given me a lot more energy and has helped with the weight loss.
I also applied for a master's degree program.
I also decided to be more social on the weekends which cut down on my lazy and game times. It's been the the best.

I've been doing a lot this year to improve my life.
I've been dedicating more time to guitar. I finally started up my webcomic and podcast, on episode 2 now!, I have been working out and eating better, and taking up more hobbies (albeit at the cost of less sleep.)
I've got some pretty bad ADD tendancies, so I have been trying to just keep myself really busy.
Quick, quiet, confident
Comfortable, permanent
Undisputed, every tense
Not a trace of what went left
More equal than the best
Unparalleled success
Everybody, V-impressed
I realized that friends, while nice to have, are not required for a happy and healthy life. And a freind who's only method of contact is mass emails is not worth keeping.
Also, getting over my fear of public speaking (teaching a class in front of 150 students will do that to you), cutting back on my drinking and working out more.
I have embraced the fact that I am not a morning person, nor will I ever be.
Instead, I started getting everything I needed to get done for the next work day before I go to bed.
Grind coffee beans, shower, lay out a fresh set of clothes, make tomorrows lunch, etc.
That way I can sleep as late as possible, then when the alarm goes off, just roll out of bed and go.
Also I bring a change of gym clothes so when I get off work at 5:30, I can hit the gym for about an hour before I drive home. This keeps me from having to deal with rush hour traffic as much.
All in all, just a little bit of planning ahead and scheduling differently can buy you more free time during in day to day life.
I don't drink soda, and I try to avoid junk food as much as possible (chips, candy, really sweet stuff).
I eat prunes/take extra fiber. Seriously you guys pooping is awesome.
I got a big write-on calendar to hang on my wall that rips off month by month (and started a google calendar for my boyfriend and I too coordinate schedules on this summer)
I quit WoW
I got TiVo which actually means I watch LESS TV, but 100% shows I like

the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
Yes, but would you squirt in the dirt?
Screw in the loo?
Fountain on a mountain?
Quit talking with a friend of about 5 years after realizing I really did not have anything in common with her.
started working out at a gym.

Not living alone :P I get weird.
I held out for so long, and now I realize how much of a fool I was.
Basically, being in a band with musicians interested in learning and growing musically has greatly improved my life.
I finally remembered what size pants I wear so I don't have to dig around in the very pants I am wearing like an idiot every time I buy new pants.
I don't think you finished the process.
Whoops I misread that as becoming a LESS bitter... carry on as you were.
This. Mental health through the roof... weight responding with gusto.

Improvement now, big problem later...?
