So in the midst of my ungodly run as weilder of Axecalibur we're defending Dustbowl part 3 point 1. I find myself able to sneak to the right back to that long cave area where a single sniper, NoMansLand, has taken up residence. He tries to get one last desperate scoped shot off as he feels that hot, thick air of inevitability bearing down on him. He immediately backs up and switches to the machine gun where I find him waiting. Bad choices lead to ugly results, son.
As he backs up his gun glows white hot as it fires flailingly into the night. I hopped Pepe Le Pew style, bloody axe in hand, a look so crazed and focused it burned through my mask, slowly, steadily bearing down on him like the train in Well. Well, ok, way slower than the train, but at least three times as awesome. We reach the room before Blu spawn area with the rickety ladder/ramp. In his folly, NML empties the last of his futile rounds just as he slips off the slight path to his doom. There he sits and waits. Death comes. And his name is <( ^.^<).

Hey, if you're going to post that, you should at least link to the guy's SteamID page, so that in case he changes his name, we can still see who it was, and ostracize them appropriately.
There was some jagoff who was doing that to people in the PA group back when Steam Communities was new. I know that I reported him to the Steam crew, dunno if he ever got banned from the service or what.

Hello sir, I have come across a large amount of gold and/or Steam hacks that you may/may not be interested in. I am the prince of Buckake so you know I am trustworthy. Please send all your passwords and women and booze to the address posted below and the riches shall be yours.
Heh. I had too much fun on pubs by being "barely slightly annoying". This is apparently the key to being the ultimate griefer or something. I said "brah" maybe twice on some Christian server and was nonstop cussed at after that. Helmets and other things that skew "survival of the fittest" need to disappear.
Google images is failing me. I'm gonna have to dive into the DVD collection to get a screen grab or somethin.
Also, this is the perfect opportunity to bring up another fine alcohol discussion. For those more inclined to the hoppy side of life, I highly, highly recommend Bell's Two-hearted ale. It's a well-balanced IPA with a light, crisp taste for an IPA with a slight bitter, full-flavored aftertaste. It's distributed at least everywhere in the states. For those East of the pond, I recommend a Duchesse de Borgogne out of Vichte, Belgium which may be easier for to find than us Yanks (although most Whole Foods seem to carry them). But the season for the Flemish sour is waning quick while that for the IPA is coming into full swing.
I just checked and Bell's apparently doesn't distribute across the US, which is a shame. Two-hearted should be available in FL, IA, IN, KY, MI, MN, MO, NC, ND, OH, PA, VA, WI at least, so if you live there count your lucky stars and grab a sixer the next hot, sunny day.
hes good, but damn... its kind of boring watching a heavy. Scouts and soldiers are much more fun to watch.
Watch a really really good medic who goes into danger and survives by the skin of his teeth when his compatriot dies time and time again. I reckon it would be full of "oh shit he's gonne bite it...what the hell? how did he do that, how is he still alive??" moments despite a lack of killing on the medics part.

Or full of the medic expertly backpedaling through twisted corridors while wearing down the enemy with his needle gun, showing his supreme mastery of the stage.

Yeah I kind of see that. I was appreciating it from a skill point of view: with his placement, excellent tracking and ability to snap to the next target in a fraction of a second.

Yes. Double points if he's correctly crouch jumping backwards over obstacles.

So, do you guys have any tips on playing Spy? I just started playing other classes than medic, and find that when I am successful with the spy, I am having such a great time playing it despite scoring generally very, very low.

I've got some pointers for you:
1 Disguises aren't useful except for sentries, use them but don't trust them.
2 Corners are your best friends, always try to lose invisibility there because it lessens the chance of being seen.
3 If you go and stab a series of targets and miss one, run if he sees you!
4 Try sapping stuff and stabbing the engineers that repair it.
5 If you think you have been spotted but aren't sure, still run away and disguise again!

Thanks alot davincie. That helps alot. I am finding myself having some problems with stabbing in general. I am cloaked, standing at the back of an enemy, and pressing fire with the dagger - but nothing happens. He doesn't stab or attack at all. Do I have to decloak at the same time? Could be my mouse, which is really giving me a hard time at the moment.

Like Squidget0 said you have to decloak first, but I would advise not decloaking at the back of the enemies unless you know for sure there are no other enemies behind you. Sure you might stab the heavy or soldier you are behind, but that is just one kill. You should try to make them fear you. You should try to go in stab a medic and maybe a heavy and then go away again disrupting their attack. And as soon as they regroup again go back in!
Personally, I love crits. Whether I'm dishing them out as a Heavy, my Chaingun suddenly spewing out hideously dangerous firepower, or whether I'm on the receiving end of a glowing blue Stickie or Rocket doesn't matter: it just adds to the beautiful chaos that is a match of Team Fortress 2.

Crits are better coming from an engineers shotgun and killing things before they can get to your sentry.
Or critical wrench, your choice.
Freshly spawned crits are a smack in the face, and I'm still coming to terms with the fact that the system revolves around improving the combat effectiveness of steamrolling teams by giving them improved critical thresholds.
But at the same time I friggin' love dishing the things out. So thar.

XOXO,

That was embarrassing, especially since you axed me like 20 times. Guess thats what I get for playing as a sniper.
Good times. Back to whisky.
Hey, back off. I was here first.
Pickle =/= Rotten Potato
I tried telling my team the story half a dozen times, but it always got cut short when I tried to axe someone and failed

I may be a tough critic. I'll report as soon as I can, sir!
