So if there's anyone trying things out on test, I'd still love to see some more i12 screens while I'm here working/projecting/studying :o

I haven't managed to find any i12 screen threads on the oforums, maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places.

Just something people have been wanting for awhile. I don't think a dev has commented for a long time. I was just saying it could be a possibility down the road. I hope they make it in some form.

It's been talked about as a scrapper or blaster set. Obviously Thugs MMs ended up getting dual pistols powers first. Also, the I12 content includes an NPC named Lady Jane who has dual pistol power(s) but does not appear to be an MM -- at least as far as I saw; she died pretty quickly on me in the mission she appeared in.

Can anything except body shape and colours be changed with the first EVAT costume slot? Like not having a helmet and having a custom head?

    With Widows, you cannot:
    • Have non-human heads
    • Have helmets or hats other than the Widow/Fortunata helmets
    • Have non-human ears
    • Have many of the hairstyles in the game
    • Have many of the Head Details (like sunglasses and such) in the game
    • Have any of the lower Head Details (like Bandit Masks and such)
    • Have any capes or wings at all
    • Customize the Widow claws

    With Spiders, you cannot:
    • Have a helmetless head (for any costume option)
    • Have any cape or wing set that's not included in the Wolf/Crab/Bane spider costume sets. If you spec into Crab Spider, you cannot use any cape, wing, or trenchcoat option in any costume, outside of the first uniform
    • Color any of the "Boss" capes available
    • Use any non-Arachnos assault rifle or mace (for Banes)

    And for both, you cannot:
    • Use any of the Arachnos parts (outside of the backpack you get once you spec into Crab) in any other outfit
    • Use Halloween salvage to get a costume slot at level 1. Currently you can on test, but that will be removed for Live

I didn't expect to have an enormous amount of customization with regards to the Arachnos uniform, but the lack of some of the options (you are locked out of 2/3 of the hairstyles in the game, regardless of gender, as a Widow; Spiders cannot use the "open helmet" style the black Wolf Spiders use; Crabs and Banes cannot go helmetless due to the costumes being half-assed) that should really be in there is just astounding. Not being able to use any Arachnos costume parts in any other costume is ludicrous.

The ATs themselves, with their power selections, branching paths, and overall unique style of play are really well-done. But the whole costume thing is just very disappointing.

So, you don't have to use the Spider chest piece, but you ARE limited in your choice of head piece because of it, regardless of whether or not you use it. That's a bit weak.

Very much so. If Spiders could go helmetless, we had more options for head customization, and we could use some Arachnos parts in other costumes (or even actually make a second Arachnos costume; when you get your second costume slot at level 10, you don't even have the option to make it an Arachnos uniform), almost all of my complaints would go away.

Okay, take that Crab Spider pic S_O posted a ways up the page. The only things you can customize about it are: the backpack (choose whether or not it has a cape); the shoulders (more spiky or less spiky); the legs (thick armored, or thin armored); and whether or not to have the little red Arachnos chest emblem, which is also uncolorable. Same thing for Bane Spiders, except they don't have the crab pack. Wolf Spiders have a lot more leeway, but it's not saying much.

I'm talking about the first costume slot. The level 10, 20, 30, and 40 slots for VEATs have nothing to talk about - they're simply generic costume slots like any other hero or villain would get.

Long Answer: If I was to do this then we would basically have two costume creators. One regular costume creator and other one to accommodate for the VEAT costume pieces. Again, very sloppy and unprofessional.
This makes no sense. You already have costume pieces unlocked via badges, enhancements or events, why not just make the functional parts into pieces that unlock for EVATs?

I'm guessing that the other devs will come to this exact conclusion and we will have as many costume pieces that pass Jay's "No clipping" obsession by issue 13.

    Along with vikings?

Still doesn't explain why Widows have such crippled head options and why at least Wolf spiders cannot go helmetless.

And Jay's ideas about 'we can't give as many options as possible because some players will complain they can't have every option' is a rubbish reason.

That's limiting what the sensible people can do because of what the dumbarse whingers will say.

Something I'm wondering about this. I know you can't manually add the arachnos pieces to these parts, but how does this work for crab spiders? Do the attacks just come out of nowhere or pop out when you attack or what? Because I'm under the impression that all the extra costume slots do not allow you to attach the arms.

When you spec into Crab Spider, you get the spider leg backpack which is out all the time. It becomes and stays a fixed part of every costume you have, and you cannot remove it unless you spec out of Crab.
