I might have to bail on this. I am having trouble coming up with something clever to put on my button
Clever-Shmever. What you have is totally personalised enough. It doesn't need to say anything else--unless you want to so you can be the self-proclaimed "Awesome-Of-All-Awesomest Buttoneer"
but that title has already been taken by Lyanth *Ish sucking up again* ...Yeah. She has a lot of titles under her proverbial belt.
EDIT:
By the by. Two hours. That's how long it took me to get through ALL the threads I have missed during the past five days. And yeah. I'm back.

As Moe just pointed out in IRC, we're getting nearer to the end here, peeps. Purebuttons' turn-around is currently listed as 11-12 days; add in at least two for shipping and that's two weeks.
AT BEST, you have one week left to submit your orders if you want them in time for PAX. So, if you're on the fence, still coming up with an idea, whatever, get with it.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Be aware that their turnaround time is *business days*. So 11-12 is closing in on 3 weeks.

Magiic, I just got your email will have the image ready for you in a little while. I'll make if for the 1.5' template.

I haven't noticed that actually being business days. When it was 9-10, I got my buttons after exactly 10 days, and it doesn't say "business days" anywhere on their site. That coupled with Whytmage corresponding with Joe on Saturday morning and having his status change also on that day leads me to believe that purebuttons works the weekends.

While they may work the weekend and tend to get them out early, they definatly are giving themselves the "business days" margin.
Probably a good idea! I'll have my web guy get on that.

Well, if somebody orders on the 8th, they should get them by the 24th, maybe the 25th. Anything later than that and you're cutting it way too close to get them by PAX. Plus the button checklist needs to be put together too, which will take a little time.
Yeah, the suggested order by date seemed fine to me, but didn't want people thinking "oh, I can order a few days later and still be okay" based on 12 days turnaround being less than 2 weeks.
Magiic just finished with it (and emailed you the .psd version). Will this work for you?
The version I sent you is in their template, just did the lines here so you could see it fits. Just let me know if you need adjustments. Right now its in the 1.5' template.

Well, like I said, the cutoff date isn't just for ordering, it's also for getting on that checklist. So if people want to risk it after the 8th, that's their business, but it won't get on the checklist.
So, since my bonus buttons came with no pins I am planning on turning them into magnets. My hope is to place these magnets in popular spots for people to find and take home with them. Does anyone think "the man" will come down on me for this? I know stickers would be bad, but would they be upset with me putting up things that leave no residue or mark?

As seen on your mom.
edit: it depends on where you put them, but I don't really know for sure how they would feel about that

I would just hand them out so that A) people will trade pins for your magnet and you won't chance the wrath of any officials.

Well I have my standard trading buttons, and I have some of the bonus buttons in button form. I was thinking that the bonus magnets would be yet another challenge, as finding them would have nothing to do with finding me. I was also thinking about posting their locations on twitter to give the twitter folk some buttony love.

You could leave them scattered all over the expo hall pretty expertly. That way, instead of twittering where the buttons are. You just twitter what you saw, and people have to figure out where you were in the expo hall to find the buttons you left there. A lot of the stands and things are made of metal, and have to be taken down at the end of the show anyway. It's also not like you're leaving them somewhere people will have to reach or climb for.
A twitter-centric magnet treasure hunt sounds like a lot of fun, but I'll wait for confirmation that I'm not pissing anyone off by doing it before I commit.

this sounds like a plan. the only issue i see with this is that one person will take most of the magnets. perhaps you slowly scatter them throughout the weekend, so that one person can't take them all?

I would definitely only put one or two magnets in any given location.

Sweet! My buttons have done this as well!
And maybe because of us (or at least, I like to think so).

So why not make a button that just says "something clever"? I'm sure that would be pretty popular with the PAX folk.
You could just put your avatar and name. Sounds crazy but I think people might like that.

Hurray for NPC quests! lol
"You must seek out the amulet of ukiyo e long ago hidden..."
Of course all of my quests would have to be under 140 characters. Brevity is not one of my strongpoints...
Thanks Strife I appreciate it!
