Not a huge deal but I'm writing a report for work and the word "inputted," which I think is the correct/primary past tense form of "input," but I hear a lot of people simply use the word "input" both for present and past tense.
The word "inputted" sounds and looks dumb to me. So my question is whether or not it is grammatically valid to use "input" for the past tense of "input."
See, I would probably say 'headshotted', and feel a bit weird after. But usually if I'm describing a headshot I'd be using flowery language, like 'blasted him in the face.'

In this context, "input" is really the word I need to use. "Entered" is also correct and I was batting that around but it's more precised and concise to say I "input" the data I am referring to in this report.

Rewording it would give much more elegance than 'inputted'. 'Data was entered', or somesuch.
And FWIW, Firefox's in-built dictionary addon thingy doesn't like 'inputted'.

I don't believe it - I'm on my THIRD PS3, and my FIRST XBOX360. What the heck?
Anyway, thanks all!
