I don't remember asking for Infinity Inc. OR Super-Chief, but they keep saying I did.
You didn't, but the faggots who go to conventions and grill panels on obscure characters to gain some sort of nerd points did.
You're right. 52 should just star Batman and Superman..flying around the milky way, with hands held tightly whilst the song from Greatest American Hero plays.

My question on the Flash series is, you have both Johns and Waid who had steller runs on Flash. Why not launch it with one of them?
because they're both doing at least two other books apiece. they're not bendis or kirkman (not a quality statement).
It would have been awesome to see someone other than the two guys currently writing Flash doing the book, but I think they're improving consistently.
Unfortunately, the first storyarc of a relaunch of a massively popular character inheriting the legacy of an even more popular character is not the prime place for guys who haven't written comics before to 'find themselves', despite the fact that they seem to be doing just that.
I would personally love it if Johns, Waid and Gail Simone wrote absolutely every DC book. But it's totally not even feasible.
Fastest Man Alive ... in the Slowest Arc Published. Ah well, it can only get better from here. At least it's not Nightwing. I hope they do touch upon the Speed Force and the West family in 52.
As for II, it's nice to see the name back. They were one of my favorites as a kid.
Thing is, the original II concept doesn't work with the current JSA being a melting pot of young and old heroes. And taking, say, Courtney, Jakeem and Rick out of JSA to put them elsewhere would really hurt JSA.

If they had made Corrigan the Spectre instead of Cris, I'd have stopped reading DC entirely and just re-read KC each month. Not out of disgust, but just to save money, since I already knew the ending.

I don't know, hopefully this gets explained a bit more. Bart having an energy dimension with, like, at least six people inside it is kind of weird and unsatisfactory. Some title is going to have to deal with what happened in the Speed Force and why Wally & Gang decided to stay behind.
As for using pieces of Kingdom Come, it only makes sense. There are so many good ideas packed into it as a possible future of the DCU. Too many great and weird and awesome characters not to use or bring into being. Of course, they aren't lifting things directly, but making plenty of tweaks to have these KC-inspired characters make sense in the DCU.
Bart as Flash can and will work under the right writer. They need to get rid of the angst and bring some of the humor back. Bart's a bit older and a bit wiser, but it'll be fun to see him come to terms with what's happened and just let loose. Wally and Barry always provided some comic relief to the League and DCU, and they shouldn't treat Bart any differently.
Cris as Spectre was an inspired choice and he's done well so far, especially in his post-Crisis miniseries. Tales of the Unexpected looks awesome, and I'm glad they're bringing back the classic "hilariously evil, ironic justice" Spectre of yesteryear. Goatee aside, things are looking good for the character.

This week just didn't focus on any of the characters I cared about the most. It wasn't bad, I just wasn't as invested in these characters. Especially this Super-Chief.

The odds of anything in 52 being related in any way to an inter-company crossover with Marvel is fantastically small. DC has never quite forgiven Quesada for basically saying they're basically a bunch of limpdicks years ago, ensuring that a crossover won't happen until he resigns as EIC. The glove is almost certainly one of Luthor's powersuit gloves, complete with kryptonite in assorted fruity flavors.

i wish UGO had continued to post back issues...that was very helpful in keeping up with this...
Ralph is going to hell to try to get Ice out again.
Actually, Etrigan mentioned that if they would look back Ice would be off to her own personal valhalla or some such. So she's in heaven now or something.

I don't think it neccesarily has anything to do with the story, but it might just be someone poking fun. hell, one of the artists could have snuck it in, either of their own volition or at the request of one of the writers. I prefer to see it that way anyway, it's much more interesting to me that way.
edit: upon actually going back and looking at it, though, it doesn't really LOOK like the gauntlet, so you're probably right. they ARE pussies.

That's one thing I never got about that story. Afterwards everyone was very distraught, which is natural since one of their friends was staying dead, but I seem to remember someone lamenting about how she's still back in Hell or something. Did they just miss the whole part about Etrigan saying it was a mistake that Tora was even there at all or what?

Well, if it was operating under the same rules of Greek mythology as Orpheus and Eurydice, she can't go from Tartarus to the Elysian Fields. So, she's probably in the Asphodel Meadows, which is essentially Limbo. Hmm. Prometheus. Limbo. A nice workaround for the return of Ice?
I don't know how this would mesh with the whole Norse mythology angle.

I'm sorry, maybe you missed the part where Etrigan said she would go to her own personal valhalla dealie. Because I'm pretty sure that's not limbo. And only the basic premise of the deal was the same. Look back and you lose her. That wasn't Hades, by the way, it was regular old firey hell.
You god damned moron.
I am sorry it is just that you are dumb and seemingly incapable of comprehending.

Oh, you mean the moment in the book where a demon specifically calls it the Orpheus clause?
Also, there's no plain ol' Hell in Norse mythology. There's an underworld ruled by a goddess, but it's more for the banishment of wicked Norse gods than punishing humans. And there was no indication that this was a Judeo-Christian Hell, either. Also, this is the DCU, so this "Hell" is most likely a magical dimension (I think it was referred to as exactly that in the series). So, with the new age of magic and all, the character is probably literally in Limbo until we see more of what's up with it in DC's magic-related series.
Moron? I'm not the one throwing a hissy fit over a minor point. The whole Ice thing was a reference to Greek literature, much like Ralph's current journey is. Don't get angry at me because you've never bothered reading the classics.

Same reason you have Kurt Busiek doing a fantastic run in Action Comics, only to bring in fucking Richard Donner.
Donner has good ideas. At least they have Johns to (hopefully) reign him in if he gets too outrages.
Then again I'm willing to forgive just about anything if their run has Zod screaming " KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!!!"
Isn't he still writing the main Superman book? If so, i"m okay with the switch.
