Look, ok, if you're gonna start listing "good characters" from DC and all you can think of is Flash, Superman, and Batman, then it's because you are one biased motherfucker.

Hell, you could start listing all the Green Lanterns and not run out of cool people until you hit the 20's or so.

It really doesn't even matter, because good stories don't really come from good characters, they come from good writers. It helps a lot of if they have cool people to work with, but a talented person can take anyone and make them cool and interesting.

Not really. If anything I think this week's stories made it more plausible.

[spoiler:1632b5072a]Most people are thinking that Supernova will be the old Booster, and this new, more dickheaded Booster's just been going after fame this entire time. I can see Booster railing against him and then finally getting the mask off and finding that it's the Booster he could have, even should have been, a selfless, capable hero. Or maybe it'll be Jack Drake or some shit, I dunno.[/spoiler:1632b5072a]

No, it's Ted Kord the Pursuer. The single remaining OMAC coming up in the OMAC miniseries? Ted Kord. Supernova? Ted Kord. And Booster Gold. Taking turns in their fun supersuit. That guy in the background of 52 #7 with brown hair and a blue windbreaker? Edward Kord, aka Ted Kord, reborn when New Earth was created.

You know what? I'm going with this. Max Lord, Sue Dibny, and Ted Kord were all reborn following New Earth's creation. But now Max is a carnival huckster, Ted works a crappy IT job in Hub City, and Sue is a struggling mystery novelist living in Opal City named Susan Dearbon. She owns ten cats and is fifteen pounds overweight.

After reading Booster's wikipedia entry I found another hint that could point to him being Supernova. In this issue Supernova is seen teleporting a woman and her grandson out of harm's way, as well as making some falling rafters "vanish". In his solo series Booster once exhibited the ability to absorb mass and then expel it in its original form, or as a melted pile. This power was shown being used just once, and seems completely forgotten. Unfortunately, I only own a few bits and pieces of Booster's solo series, so I can't look this scene up, but it's possible that Waid, big continuity buff that he is, might have dredged this power back up. So what if Supernova wasn't teleporting or vanishing things, but just absorbing and expelling them, as would be within Booster's limits?

God, I just know the Supernova reveal will end in disappointment along the lines of, "Hey guys, it was actually Mary Marvel who became angered whenever Booster scorned her advances even though Mary's jailbait and was actually getting hit on all the time and it doesn't make any goddamn sense at all but MYSTERY SOLVED!"

Man, I managed to turn right to the page where it happens.

He says "...by reversing the polarity on the force field, I can absorb an object's mass into the field, and eject it, either in its original form or 'melted' to a base weight!"
