Go watch the actual the vid at gametrailers, not here, its so big it full screened my monitor without me putting it in full-screen mode.
Anywho, where the hell this come from? I have always wanted for a video game to let me experience something awesome in first person other than shooting, and this game hits the mark like a ninja star to the eye from 4000 yards away. Its like the free-running from Assassin's Creed, but better, and in a much cooler (if you ask me) environment.

Essentials:

Late 2008
Xbox 360, PS3, PC!!!!!!! (but note that this is EA so it will have the pathetically backwards SecuROM abomination)

Wiki-rip:
Mirror's Edge is a parkour inspired First Person game which concentrates on movement, and aims to expand and reinvent the sense of movement that is currently lacking from first-person games (in the words of senior producer Owen O'Brien, "to place you in the world and convey the strain and physical contact with the environment"). Although the player character can hold weapons, O'Brien stresses, "Principally, this is an action adventure. We're not positioning this as a shooter - the focus isn't on the gun, it's on the person." Gameplay in Mirror's Edge will focus on finding the best route through the games environments while combat takes a secondary role.

Though set in seemingly utopian city environment with low crime and clean streets, the world is also one inhabited by an authoritarian government regime and unbridled levels of surveillance. In this world of communications monitoring, the only way to deliver confidential information between parties is to employ couriers (called runners) to physically deliver the information. The player character controls runner Faith, employing parkour-inspired movements to reach her destination. Aside from Faith there will be no additional playable characters. According to the Q&A section of the Mirror's Edge main site "this is Faith’s story so she is the only playable character".

The story revolves around a runner named Faith and her struggle to free her sister from a corrupt government. Her parents were killed and she was forced to grow up on the street, later becoming a runner. Faith was taught not to rely on modern forms of communication, partially because the ruthless police state prefers eavesdropping every chance they get. As Faith attempts to rescue her sister, while running messages for the criminal underworld, she gets caught up in a series of events which lead to her being pursued by the totalitarian government. Acting as Faith's guide is a mysterious character named Mercury, who will help Faith in her attempt to outwit and overcome the many government agents that are out to eliminate her.

8-)
sorry for the lame OP, not much in the info department yet, but this is PA, we can't not have threads about new unique artistic games.

I like the setting in it, the world makes interesting use of colors, but something about the first person animation doesn't look quite right. When she grabs on to ledges or pipes, it doesn't really look like she's reaching out far enough to actually touch them. Hopefully they should be able to fix this in the final release though.
