Help me with my 3ds maz homework

So I'm making a scene in 3ds max, and I need to use an image as a background when I render the image. I have no problem getting the image to appear as a background in the perspective view port, but it's gone when I render. Help?

without having specific experience with 3dsmax, i'd say probably look around the rendering options. Or create a large rectangle behind the scene and texture it with the background

It's supposedly in the rendering options in environment, but I'll be damned if I can find anything to do with adding a background...

Common Parameters -> Environment Map -> Bitmap under the Environment menu. A textured box will probably look less odd, but give that a try first.
