As in you can only get it while Ahune is still around...
Until he comes back next year. The only truly limited to get items IMO have been scourge invasion stuff, and upcoming the ZA bear mount as soon as WOTLK comes out.
The ZA bear mount business is pure, weapons grade bullshit. My rank 11 mount was handed out like free candy to everyone, they didn't even change the appearance.
Also, you forgot the Scarab Lord title/mount.
The only thing that salves my anger over the ZA bear mount is the possibility of a polar bear mount in WotLK.

You can still get the bear mount in Wrath, just not after 70. Leave the char you want the mount to have at 70 for a while, wait for people to get to 80 greens/blues and then piss them off to go on a nostalgia run. Shouldn't take more then a week or two.
I used to be all about mount collecting back in the day when I only had 2 characters. Now that I have like 6 I just can't be bothered to go out and collect things anymore.
What they could do is just make a ZA faction that has the bears as mounts at exalted. That way you can run ZA a ton at 70 if you want for shits and giggles and then earn a bear mount the good old fashioned Blizzard way.

They said something about that with the titles (Champion of the Naaru, Hand of A'dal). but they specifically said they'd be removing the bear mount from the 4th chest and replacing it with a level-appropriate epic item.
Amusing: AV on my prot paladin, and trying to ninja SPGY has some nasty side effects. I end up respawning at FWGY. No problem, I can probably sneak past I think.
Pick up a human MS warrior just south of IBGY who picks up a pet priest. I "tank" him while walking backwards towards the horde zerg.
Hate: Did some 5vs5's with 4 other guild mates. Resto shaman, holy paladin, warrior, feral druid, lock. We get an awesome 2 wins out of 10. I don't enjoy 5vs5, but I'm doing it so my guild mates get points. With this in mind, it is more or less a slog to just get the games done really. What I hate, is that it upsets my guild mates, because they end up thinking they're crap. They're not, it's just the way the arena system works, and you've got to let it wash over you.
So, with people feeling down, I sign us up as a group of 5 to AV. What better place to have fun?
Happy; 5 of us defend the horde base, just outside the little room that used to dismount people back in the day. We win 3 games in a row (a big thing considering how horde in blackout eu normally play), with basically just us defending, trying to stop the early caps. Then we run around recapping stuff. 4th game, alliance take iceblood, which puts all of horde in defense, so off the 5 of us go, to the alliance base, and cap everything there.
Yeah, sure it's not a massive achievement going around in a group of 5 knowing you've all got each other's back, but we took on massive groups of alliance, so my guild mates got to feel all awesome and enjoy pvp again.

I would kill for a spider mount. If they did add a spider mount to the game it probally would involve killing (lots of enemys of the friends of the spiders).
Who would be the enemys of the friends of the spiders? Giant boot men? Pesticide dragons? The lack of a circulatory system?

Yah that is pretty awesome, and I am glad Redcoat had a lot of fun defending in AV.
I on the other hand won my first two games, where the Horde decided the best option was to rush Stormpike, and then lost the next 4 because of Horde interferring at Galv, and then defending the tower that Redcoat mentions, which if it can be gone around I would love to know where.

Hate: Most people in my guild don't know what Duckburg is.
Goddamn teenagers.
Also, my friend who gets mentioned relatively often in this thread couldn't decide which would be better, Naga Heartpiercer or Skystriker Bow. Yeah, 5 agi versus 10 dps, real hard decision there.
Yeah, I was just going to ask about that. Are the alliance dudes so weak that you can tank 2+Van at once?
I need more than one healer if that's what you are asking. Usually I have 2+ people healing me (usually chaincasting), but towers usually finish capping and healers get a break before its too bad
EDIT: I'll setup recount to run for vann and his buddies next time to give you a better idea of how hard they hit

Really happy: my four day trip to Tennessee must have broken my gear curse, because I got invited to a pug TK (in mostly blues, though S2 swords and some random epics elsewhere) and picked up the Arcanite Steam Pistol and T5 shoulders (upgrading from the shoulders from regular Blood Furnace). Plus I got a Nether Vortex randomly looted to me from the trash. I could have pressed the group's goodwill by rolling on the leather bracers from Solarian ("Oh jeez, are we going to have to give Atsu more gear?" was the call over vent when it dropped), but decided not to be greedy and didn't roll against the two other guys who were putting in for it.
Then we spent a long time wiping on Kael because we were a horrible PuG TK and couldn't kill the weapons in time for phase 3 despite having FIVE warlocks.

Vann hits me for around 3k, his marshals around 2.5k. Marshals will occasionally cleave or whirlwind for about the same amount.

oh god happy: I got the S2 chest and helm tonight which means that I now have a full pvp set and I look pretty badass
I'm still prot, but I tend to pvp a bit and would never ever dream of tanking in my pvp gear
hate: AB.
duuuur we're losing by 1000 points lets go cap stables so that we can make this ab last another 10 mins instead of losing now and getting our damn mark
I am all for trying in pvp, but when we got 4 bases down inside 2 minutes you can fucking tell that I'm not going to try my hardest

Yeah, there's such a thing as trying your best to win, but when the alliance is at 1800/200 winning, with 25 seconds to go, nothing boils my blood more than someone capping something and making it last 5 minutes.

As your DI will tell you, "Don't you even think about quitting."
Unfortunately, the number of clutch wins that result in such things are dwarfed by several orders of magnitude by the number of impending losses that you just dragged out.
On the micro scale it sounds just great, but when the big picture is that adding 5 minutes to 20 games is another hour and a half of your life wasted getting farmed and violated by a superior team, sometimes you just have to sit back and enjoy the ride.
In a pre-made of my own, I'm all "never give up! Never surrender!" but in a PuG match where we're down 1k, I'll fight the good fight, but won't sweat something small like a loss.
Now, a game where we're down 1k and manage to win is of course the sweetest thing ever, but speaking from experience, I'm happier when my teammates (again, in a PuG) know their asses from a hole in the group without the benefit of both hands, a map and a GPS unit.

I don't want to drag this out, but it comes down to this-- when you reach the point where you start saying to yourself, "Is this where I should give my best effort, or should I slack off now and try my best some other time ?" , you've already given up.
I mean, on my battlegroup, it doesn't matter when it comes to EotS. We're losing because half of our team has S2 Shoulders and a level 65 mainhand. I would rather simply lose than put in the effort to direct these players into doing something useful, but even then, they won't listen when I tell them to rush DR, anyway.
So I just stopped PVPing.

I find I can't just give up and not try to win. I know it pisses the honor farmers off but I just can't see the sense in playing in a completion and not trying to win.
I have been in Arathi Basin down 1800 to 200 and avoided capping a flag just because I didn't think we could pull off a five cap. I have also been in that same situation and capped a flag because it made me giggle.
I have been in WSG standing on the Horde roof contemplating taking the flag, but realizing that my team sucked so much that all my taking the flag would do is delay the end by 30 seconds. While on another day I have grabbed that flag and tried my hardest to return the flag because I felt like it.
I have been in a WSG where the Alliance decided to farm the Horde in their GY. I had the flag and waited for the Alliance to get our flag back and after 5 minutes of asking them to go kill the flag carrier, I ran the flag back to the Horde, so they could score. And then the next three scores in less then 10 minutes belonged to the alliance.
I am all for fighting until the very end, but I am also for giving up territory when it is a wiser decision.

There are two counterpoints relevant to this. One is that it doesn't matter how well you perform if the people around you clearly cannot capitalize on it. Strategy and logistics should not be ignored solely in favor of tactics.
The second is that no matter how much effort you give, you probably can't change the laws of mathematics. AB and to a greater extent EotS will reach a point where it becomes mathematically impossible to win without at least 3 other people also on top of their game, which of course ties in with the first point.

Usually when things hit that point, I just shift my focus away from taking objectives to fighting (I'm still a bit out of practice coming back a month ago after over a year off) and getting a few kills (which I usually wind up really low on due to being the only one actually trying for objectives) or trying to hammer some semblance of tactics and strategy into the heads of the PuG.
